After Diana gets an A- on her report card, she goes through a brief crisis of character.

- The B Grade: The inciting incident is Diana getting an A- in one of her classes.
- Bait-and-Switch: As Kara's looking over her grades, in the hopes they've improved so her foster parents will give her back her car, they all sound pretty lousy... until she's done and cheerfully exclaims her grades have risen.
- Brick Joke:
- Kara realizes that Krypto doesn't smell like sardines anymore because Diana's been washing him and Ace. At the end of the episode, Krypto dives right into a dumpster full of smelly garbage, coming out covered in sardines.
- Related to this, Babs catches Diana washing Ace in the middle of the night.
- The Bus Came Back: Kara's dog Krypto briefly appears for the first time since "#BeastsInShow".
- Dramatically Missing the Point: Karen argues that Diana's grades dipped because she's stretched herself too thin, using a chart to illustrate all the many, many responsibilities she's taken on. Diana resolves that she isn't trying hard enough and takes the chart as a to-do list, to Karen's repeated objections.
- Gilligan Cut: Twice.
- After Diana's initial tantrum over her first A-, Babs figures now she's gotten it all out of her system. FIVE DAYS LATER.
- As Diana gets worse, Jess figures if they all talk to her about the problem she'll respond like a rational person. Cut to Diana crouched on top of a filing cabinet, vowing she'll do no such thing.
- G-Rated Drug: Diana gets a mystical fruit from Themyscira that fills her full of energy. When Babs tries it, she becomes extremely hyperactive, literally bouncing off the walls (whether because it's not meant for ordinary humans or because Babs is already high-energy). Diana becomes obsessed with relying on this fruit to keep up with all her activities, which is treated like an overachiever taking stimulants, including an intervention from friends.
- Heroic BSoD: Diana spends five days lying on a couch, just staring at ceiling, after getting her first minus. Kara notes she's starting to pong a lot.
- It Tastes Like Feet: Along with purple. Babs takes some of the Fruit of Hermes for herself, and inquires with Diana whether she's experienced the weird aftertaste as well, or if it's just Babs.
- Not So Above It All: Jess may hate the harsh grading system, but she loves the triumphant feeling of good grades.
- Power-Up Food: When Amazons of Themyscira wish for extra energy before undertaking a battle, they send away for the mystical Fruit of Hermes, which greatly vitalizes them.
- Pretentious Pronunciation: Diana habitually pronounces "minus" as "me-noose," with emphasis on the second syllable, similar to how one would pronounce King Minos.
- Shout-Out: Babs trying one of the fruits briefly has her channel Daffy Duck — mainly the "Hoo-hoos!". Fitting for a Warner Bros. production.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Karen realizes that no one has told Diana it's okay to make mistakes and gets through to her with a heartfelt speech saying she doesn't need to be perfect, because she's already an amazing person in all respects.
