Isaac: The situation in Crimson Banks is becoming more concerning by the minute! Now that the Italians have a huge arsenal at their disposal, goodness knows how much worse the conflict could get...

After being informed by Evie that a police armory had been attacked by the Italian gang, Isaac and the player rush to the scene to stop the perpetrators on their tracks. Unfortunately, both officers are proven to be too late when the only thing they find is the station ransacked and the body of Officer Edna Owens with multiple gunshot wounds.

Tropes:

  • Bathhouse Blitz: Diego gets kidnapped and attacked by Marvin inside of an abandoned bathhouse, and almost dies until you come to his rescue.
  • Bribe Backfire: Marvin attempted to bribe Edna with an envelope full of money to let them steal the weapons from the armory, but she kept the money and refused, so the Italians had to bribe her brother to convince her.
  • Call-Back: Officer George Blanton and Marvin Ferrari reappear as a suspects. Katherine Woolf also makes a brief appearance during one of Evie's analyses.
  • Car Fu: The Italians rammed a car against the station's entrance to enter, although they decided to leave the vehicle behind once they obtained the weapons.
  • Career Versus Man: According to him, George and Edna were in love and had been courting for a while, but she decided to break it up since she wanted to focus on her job as a police officer.
  • Cliffhanger: The case ends with Rose informing you that the Irish and Italian gangs have officially started an all-out war in the district, and the Crimson Bridge has been set on fire by them.
  • Cop/Criminal Family: Edna, a police officer, previously arrested Wilbur, her own brother, for thief, which Wilbur saw as a betrayal after all the things he did for Edna while growing up.
  • Cut-and-Paste Note: The killer sent one to Edna warning her about being at the police station tonight, which she promptly ignored and got her killed as a result.
  • Distressed Dude: Diego gets kidnapped by the Italians during the Additional Investigation after he fails to infiltrate them, and almost gets killed by being drowned in a bath until Rose and the player come to his rescue.
  • Due to the Dead: After the case is solved, Deputy Mayor Sandra Hwang decides to give a heartfelt speech about Edna and the things she accomplished during her time at the force, something that Isaac finds a little hypocritical due to Hwang's showcased Lack of Empathy before.
  • A Friend in Need: Evie gets very preoccupied for Diego when he stops responding her calls and later when you find the note left by the Italians claiming that he's going to die, and implores you and Rose to save him.
  • Hold the Line: The victim attempted to do this by herself against the Italian gang attacking the station, although she didn't expect her brother to be with them, much less be the one who killed her.
  • The Infiltration: Diego attempts to infiltrate the Italian gang during the Additional Investigation to discover where they're hiding the stolen weapons, but gets busted by Marvin and is almost killed as a result.
  • Lack of Empathy: Sandra is shown to have a huge case of this, dismissing the victim's death as nothing important and instead hurrying you to find the stolen weapons.
Isaac: A young officer lost her life doing her job tonight, Deputy Mayor Hwang. A little compassion would not go amiss!
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Implied by the player when Isaac makes a pun when you find a shoe at the crime scene.
Isaac: It'll be a great "feet" if we manage to discover who this shoe belongs to!
    ...My sincerest apologies, <Player's Name>
  • Lipstick Mark: When you enter to Evie's library for an analysis, she has one of these in her cheek... and Katherine besides her.
  • Morton's Fork: Wilbur justifies killing Edna with this, as either he killed her or the Italians would've killed both of them, Edna for being at the police station and Wilbur for failing to prevent her from being there.
  • Multiple Gunshot Death: How the victim was killed.
  • The Needs of the Many: Sandra tells you that investigating the murder of an officer is not important at the moment, as you should be seeking the missing weapons since more lives are at stake.
  • Never My Fault: Sandra refuses to take responsibility for her actions about cutting the funds in the police station (therefore making it less guarded against the Italian attack), berating you for pinning the blame on her.
  • Number Two: This case introduces Sandra Hwang, the Deputy Mayor of Concordia and second-in-command behind Mayor Castletown.
  • Promotion to Parent: Wilbur tells you how he took care of Edna after both of their parents died, which is why he felt betrayed after she arrested him for theft once.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Sandra Hwang resembles Susan B. Anthony.
    • Guy Fawkes is mentioned.
  • Sibling Murder: Edna was killed by Wilbur, her own brother.
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: Sandra insists on being called by her title the first time you meet her.
    Isaac: Excuse me, Miss... ?
Sandra: That's Deputy Mayor Hwang to you. And I demand an explanation as to why there is a vehicle sticking out of the police station!
  • What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: The following exchange regarding Diego infiltrating the Italian gang during the Additional Investigation:
Chief Wright: There's no need to worry, what could possibly go wrong?
Evie: <Player's Name>, I must speak with you at once! It's about Diego... I think he's in trouble!
Chief Wright: Ah, perhaps things are not going as swimmingly as I had anticipated...
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit:
    • Wilbur cries and reminiscences how he raised Edna when their parents died when you inform her about the death when he's the one who murdered her.
    • Coupled with What the Hell, Hero?, Gianna Verdino claims that you're discriminating her since you're only interrogating her for being an Italian who was just passing by the police station at the time of the murder, but she's later revealed to be the one who rammed the car against the building in the first place.
  • You Are Too Late: By the time Isaac and the player arrive to the station, the Italians have already left with the weapons, leaving only their vehicle and the victim's body behind.
