After a girl named Paloma is released from a jinx that kept her from talking for a year, she goes on a rampage jinxing everyone else in the Creek.

Tropes:

  • Ahem: J.P. says this to get Paloma’s attention when he’s getting ready to challenge her.
  • Betrayal by Inaction: Paloma thinks the rest of the Creek deserve to suffer for failing to notice she'd been jinxed for a whole year.
  • Curse: When two kids say the same thing simultaneously, the first to say "jinx" will make the other (physically) unable to talk until fulfilling some stated demand (usually hearing their own name or giving some payment).
  • Deadly Prank: The kid who jinxed Paloma moved away before she could be released.
  • Facial Dialogue: After being jinxed, Craig is able to communicate with J.P. just with his looks. When he gives an exasperated look to Kelsey behind J.P.'s back, J.P. says "I heard that!"
  • Harsh Word Impact: Being jinxed is shown as a flying, glowing X knocking the target through the air, sealing their lips shut and often plowing them into the ground.
  • Insistent Terminology: Paloma is able to jinx the Ninja Kids by predicting that they’ll correct her when she says their manga are comic books.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Because she can’t punish the person who actually jinxed her, Paloma takes it out on everyone else in the Creek. She even refers to it as retribution, which confuses J.P.
Paloma: Well, now they know how I felt. Call it retribution.
J.P.: I don’t know what that word means!
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: The Stump Trio freeing a kid from a jinx leads to her jinxing everyone else in the Creek. She spares the three who saved her at first, but she quickly betrays them when they try to stop her.
  • Pillar of Light: When she un-jinxes everyone, a beam of light shoots out of Paloma’s mouth and into the sky over the whole Creek.
  • Repeating So the Audience Can Hear: JP translates Craig and Kelsey’s silent side of the conversation after they’ve been jinxed so the audience can understand.
  • Shout-Out: When Yustice gets jinxed, she winds up in a crater in Yamcha's famous death pose.
  • This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: J.P.'s eccentricity makes Paloma unable to predict what he'll say to jinx him.
  • Tranquil Fury: Sums up Paloma almost perfectly.
  • Un Evil Laugh: Paloma's laugh is meant to be evil, but it comes off as awkward. Kelsey points out how weird it is.
  • What You Are in the Dark: After J.P. gives Paloma back the ability to speak for a second time, she actually does say the same thing as J.P., this time by accident. She could have eliminated the only one who could have stood in her way but passes, showing that Paloma really isn't going to start the same trouble up again.
  • Wipe That Smile Off Your Face: Bobby is jinxed so hard his mouth is completely gone.
  • World-Healing Wave: Everyone Paloma jinxed gets to speak again after a wave of un-jinxing power spreads throughout the Creek.
