Now loading tropes:

  • Art Evolution: Joe's hair is longer in this episode than it was in "P.I.N.K.E.Y.E.".
  • Big "SHUT UP!": A variant; in The Stinger Numbuh 3 finally stops Numbuh 2's grandma and Count Spankulot from their When I Was Your Age... volley with a "STOP IT!"
  • Calling Your Attacks: Mushi with her “Thousand Color Shower of Doom!”
  • Came Back Wrong: Justified, as Party Time Rainbow Monkey was infused with Spankulot's spanking powers when Mushi revived him.
  • Continuity Nod: The murdered rainbow monkey from "Operation: C.L.U.E.S." is still very much 'dead' in this episode. At least, before Mushi brings it back to life...
    • Also, Joe was revoked of his school detective duties since "Operation: P.I.N.K.E.Y.E." and has since then been reduced to guarding his dad's grocery store.
    • The episode ends with Hoagie catching Mushi getting busted out by King Sandy, who fell in love with her in "Operation: K.A.S.T.L.E."
  • Cooldown Hug: Numbuh 2 and Spankenstein, in the middle of an electrical substation.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Chocolate sauce to Numbuh 2 is akin to alcohol with him apparently going to the chocolate sauce version of Alcoholics Anonymous.
  • Enemy Mine: Count Spankulot saves Numbuh 2, one of his usual enemies, from Mushi, the girl he had come to spank at the start of the episode and had stolen his powers.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Though enraged at Mushi for bringing Party Time Rainbow Monkey back from the dead to spank him, he openly refuses to fight her physically given her young age. Though subverted when she sends him flying with a kick, saying he might be willing to fight her once as long as she doesn't tell anyone. Then double subverted, when instead of fighting her, he just takes cover, and lets Count Spankulot handle her for him when he regains his powers.
  • Friendly Enemy: Count Spankulot regains his powers just in time to save Numbuh 2 from Mushi. Then he cheerfully joins the Gilligans and the Sanbans for ice-cream sundaes.
  • Funny Background Event: During the end credit scene, Numbuh 3's increasingly irritated expressions over Lydia and Count Spankulot droning on about the old days.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: After Count Spankulot regains his powers and punishes Mushi, instead of going after Numbuh 2, he instead joins the Gilligans and the Sanbans for dessert.
  • Got Volunteered: Inverted; when Mrs. Sanban needs someone to go and buy some chocolate sauce, Numbuh 2 is the only one who doesn't want to do it, because of his former chocolate sauce addiction.
  • Grounded Forever: Mushi had previously been grounded for life in "Operation: C.L.U.E.S.”, but her actions in this episode made her parents increase her “sentence” to five lifetime groundings.
  • He's Back!: When Count Spankulot regains his spanking powers, he makes nothing less than one of his over-the-top monologues.
  • "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight: Numbuh 2 reaches out to Spankenstein and reminds him he was once Kuki's rainbow monkey in life. He reminds him that he was originally meant to give relaxing hugs, not dull out spankings. Eventually, Spankenstein's old instincts resurface.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Count Spankulot gives Mushi hers for stealing his spanking powers and infusing them to a rainbow monkey.
  • Misery Poker: Inverted. Grandma Lydia and Count Spankulot have a back-and-forth about what passed for dessert when they were growing up. They're clearly having fun with it to the point Lydia seems to be having a good time for the first time in the series.
  • Oh, Crap!: Mushi when she sees Count Spankulot is back to full strength and closing in on her.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: You know Numbuh 2 is seriously shaken by Spankenstein's death when he coldly tells a ranting Kani "Shut up..."
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Despite his earlier grudge against Hoagie, Joe Balooka later turns up at the Sanban's house to apologize for suspecting Numbuh Two for stealing and to return the chocolate sauce he took from him.
  • Sequel Episode: To “Operation: C.L.U.E.S.”
  • Serious Business: Making perfect ice-cream sundaes is this for Mr. Sanban. He has a short temper for any noise disturbing his concentration, and when he realizes he forgot the chocolate sauce, he bursts into tears.
  • Ship Tease: Possibly. In The Stinger, Lydia and Spankulot have a chat over how crappy their desserts were when they were kids. At the end of the conversation, she asks him if he's married.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Although she does get a highly deserved spanking from the Count, Mushi manages to escape with the aid of her boyfriend King Sandy (after they hooked up in KASTLE), deciding to run away from the Sanban residence permanently.
  • Villainous Rescue: Count Spankulot saves Numbuh 2 from Mushi when he ducks into the closet Mushi has Spankulot trapped in. Once Spankulot reabsorbs his powers from Spankenstein, he makes quick work of Mushi.
  • When I Was Your Age...: Numbuh 2's Grandma goes on and on about what used to pass for dessert when she was a child. When Spankulot joins the dinner table, they cheerfully start comparing who got it the worst.
Grandma Lydia: We had to discover fire before we could even roast marshmallows!
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To King Kong (1933), especially where Spankenstein is attacked by water-balloons being deemed a menace though Numbuh Two realizes he's a misunderstood Tragic Monster.
