"It appears that this is one Tommy Lee who doesn't hit girls."
Nick

The tenth episode of the first season of Celebrity Deathmatch, also known as 37th Annual Sci-Fi Fight Night.

This episode consists of only one pre-determined fight, one scheduled Q&A session that turns into an unscheduled fight, and one scheduled performance of the national anthem that also turns into an unscheduled fight. The national anthem is performed by CĂ©line Dion until it is disrupted by Keith Flint. The Q&A session, intended for Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew, is cut short by an alien invasion that Nick personally decides to take care of. The main event features a tag-team fight between Men in Black stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, and The X-Files stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

This episode contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: Despite being one of the two announcers for the show, Nick moonlights as an impromptu combatant for the first time in this episode.
  • Affably Evil: The alien that runs amok in the arena has a very high-pitched voice, and generally comes across as being playful with a foul mouth.
  • Alien Invasion: An implied threat of this is given by the single alien that starts running amok in the arena.
  • Berserk Button: Nick is already aggravated by the alien after it single-handedly takes out Don King, plus all of the Deathmatch security guards, but draws the line after it kills Peter Mayhew and Mark Hamill.
    • Céline Dion does not like being upstaged or assaulted during a performance; though it's debatable how much of this came from her and not the parasitic alien living inside her.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Céline Dion is not someone you want to cross paths with, and Keith Flint learns this the hard way.
  • Blinded by the Light: David Duchovny is spared from death at the very last moment when Gillian Anderson blinds Tommy Lee Jones with an over-sized flashlight.
  • Body and Host: After previously possessing Céline Dion, the alien soon enters the body of Don King to deliver a threatening message to the audience.
  • The Cameo: This episode features an appearance from Don King.
  • Chairman of the Brawl: Keith Flint interrupts Céline Dion's national anthem by running into the ring and knocking her down with a chair from the audience.
  • Chest Burster: Moments after dispatching Keith Flint, Céline Dion's body starts morphing rapidly before eventually exploding to reveal an alien had been possessing her this whole time.
  • Delinquent Hair: Keith Flint sports this, of course.
  • Easily Thwarted Alien Invasion: All it takes to prevent the alien from taking over the world is for Nick to personally take him on single-handedly.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: The alien doesn't react too well when Peter Mayhew attempts to recreate the iconic sound of Chewbacca, implying that whatever noise he was making did not translate too well in the alien's native language.
  • Eye Poke: Tommy Lee Jones delivers one to David Duchuvny very early on in the main event.
  • Eye Scream: Nick neutralizes the alien threat by plunging his fist into the alien's eye and pulling out his brain.
  • Fiery Redhead: Gillian Anderson is portrayed as this.
  • Groin Attack: Gillian Anderson delivers several of these in succession to Tommy Lee Jones, taking advantage of the fact that he wouldn't dare hit a woman.
  • Head Crushing: The alien takes out both Peter Mayhew and Mark Hamill by repeatedly smashing their heads against the ring canvas.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Will Smith holds Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny at gun point, however he fails to notice that he's actually holding his laser rifle backwards and, despite being told by Tommy Lee Jones as such, Will still goes ahead and pulls the trigger, taking both Tommy and himself out.
  • Hollywood Magnetism: Céline Dion manages to rip out Keith Flint's tongue piercing using an over-sized magnet.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Despite being an iconic singer in real life, Céline Dion's performance of the national anthem is actually quite grating.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: After decapitating Keith Flint, Céline Dion then proceeds to swallow his head in one bite.
  • In My Language, That Sounds Like...: When asked by an avid fan to recreate the Chewbacca growl, Peter Mayhew delivers a less-than-impressive version, which only angers the rampant alien when he accuses Peter of bad-mouthing his mother.
  • Kill Him Already!: After momentarily incapacitating Tommy Lee Jones, Gillian Anderson invites David Duchovny to finish him off. David instead starts rambling again, prompting an already irritated Gillian to utter this line.
  • Leotard of Power: After evading a body slam from Keith Flint, Céline Dion rips off the sleeves and skirt from her dress. What's left of her outfit resembled a leotard.
  • Lightning Bruiser: The alien is very quick on his feet and easily overpowers Nick early on in the fight.
  • Off with His Head!: Céline Dion easily dispatches Keith Flint by ripping off his head.
  • Oh, Crap!: Keith Flint very quickly regrets trying to mess with Céline Dion, the moment she starts chasing him around the ring.
  • Operators Are Standing By: During the main event, Nick and Johnny start advertising some Celebrity Deathmatch merchandise that fans can call in to purchase. Johnny also quotes the trope verbatim.
  • Shirtless Scene: Nick takes off his jacket and shirt before entering the ring to take on the alien, then puts them back on after the fight.
  • "Shut Up" Kiss: After winning their fight, David Duchovny starts rambling which prompts Gillian Anderson to kiss him in order to shut him up.
  • Smooch of Victory: What Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny start doing shortly after winning their fight.
  • Take Over the World: The alien that bursts out of Céline Dion's body taunts everyone by threatening to take over the world.
  • The Voice: Moments before being killed, Mark Hamill is advised by an unseen voice to get out of the ring while he still can.
  • What Could Have Been: According to Word of God, this episode was supposed to feature a fight between William Shatner and Patrick Stewart.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Keith Flint enters the arena wearing only a pair of shorts and sneakers.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Tommy Lee Jones is very reluctant to fight back when Gillian Anderson starts kicking his ass.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: While her appearance seems normal to begin with, Céline Dion's eyes turn a notable shade of yellow as she's preparing to deliver the fatal blow.
