• The Book Cipher: Borden, as well as other Sandstorm agents, use a code based on Ab Urbe Condita.
• *Click* Hello: As Patterson's creeping up on Borden with an IV cord, Shepherd brings a gun to Patterson's head.
• Cold-Blooded Torture: Shepherd tortures Patterson about how much the FBI knows about Phase 2 by injecting a sharp needle into her ear, piercing her eardrum each time.
• Internal Reveal: Jane reveals to the team that Borden was the Sandstorm mole.
• The Mole: Just as Sandstorm had Borden as a mole to the FBI, Nas has one so deep in Sandstorm she doesn't know who they are.
• No Indoor Voice: Justified in Patterson's case after being stabbed in the ear with needles.
• The Reveal: We finally see who was shot between Borden and Patterson. It was Patterson. Borden's real name is also Nigel Thornton.
• Troubled Fetal Position: Roman is curled up in one in his cell as he remembers his childhood when the same thing happened to him.
• Wham Shot: Patterson hacks an NSA mole's phone to find a video of a rough draft for Jane's tattoos. They find out there was one that was missing from the final version.
