• Berserk Button: Misuse of certain nouns as verbs will set Bernard off, as below.
• Blank Stare: Manny's report of his ineptitude with his crush is so bad that Bernard is flabbergasted into giving this.
• Bottle Episode: The entire episode takes place in the shop with only the three leads until the end.
• Department of Redundancy Department: Bernard.
  Bernard: I can't help being angry when I'm furious!
• Drama Bomb Finale: A rather downplayed version, as it is still mostly comedic, but it is the last episode of the show and Bernard's heartbreak and Manny's desire to make a connection with his crush are treated rather more sombrely than their usual issues.
• Drowning My Sorrows: A completely inverted version. The trio are blind drunk but Bernard gets so sad recounting his lost love that he stops drinking and goes to make tea instead.
• Drunken Song: Fran's attempt at an Irish ballad.
• Failed a Spot Check: Neither Bernard nor Manny notice Fran's new hair even after she tries to draw attention to it:
  Bernard: Men have a different way of noticing hair and appearance. Which is not noticing.
• Gag Haircut: Bernard has his hair cut by Manny. With a bread knife.
• Gargle Blaster: Beetroot liqueur, Bernard's revolting neon-blue drink and Bludge, a drink so strong you can rub it on your hip and it eats straight through to your liver.
• In Vino Veritas: The episode culminates with a barrage of drunken revelations.
• Malicious Misnaming: Of a sort. Bernard stretches the middle syllable of the name "Rowena" to silly lengths to show his contempt.
• Noodle Incident: The titular party. A semi-inversion as it happens between the first and second half of the episode.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The normally raving drunk Bernard gets sad after bringing up his dead fiance and stops drinking to go and make tea.
• Sommelier Speak: Fran and Manny indulge in a little bit of this with the cheap wine before it veers somewhat off-course.
  Fran: Audacious. Look at the robe on that.
  Manny: (nose in glass) I'm getting flowery notes. I'm getting caramel, I'm getting bitumen (snort) I'm getting red wine up my nose!
• Suddenly Shouting: "DON'T YOU DARE USE THE WORD 'PARTY' AS A VERB IN THIS SHOP!"
• Title Drop: A lot.
• Unusual Euphemism: 'What am I supposed to do while you're doing the underpants Charleston with this insane, blind tart!'
