Sharon seems to be having some issue hearing things - for one thing, she's turning up the volume on the TV shows that she and Tracey watch. Meanwhile, a conversation with Dorien leads to her habit of cosmetic surgery and the others point out that Tracey always looks depressed, making her self-conscious about her appearance. Meanwhile, Travis has been suspended for a tattoo. Tracey is disgusted, but Travis won't admit who got him the ID that allowed him to get the ID. Tracey suspects it's Garth, but he insists it wasn't him.

Meanwhile, Sharon finds out that she is suffering from hearing loss. Making matters worse, Tracey reveals that Sharon actually has a tattoo of the name of a hated schoolmate named Norman Parker within her bum, apparently acquired after a day trip to Ramsgate in 1976. Soon, Tracey learns that it was Dorien who gave Travis the ID, who then reveals that Tracey has had botox. Tracey thus gives Sharon money to get hearing aids. She does, but she also uses the opportunity to remove her tattoo, lying about her age (using Dorien's hearing aids) to get the hearing aids for free.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Actor Allusion: In the opening scene, Tracey and Sharon are watching a murder mystery show on TV where a body is discovered on a beach next to a burning boat. Pauline Quirke, who plays Sharon, appeared in Broadchurch, an 8-part television series that aired in the UK, about the murder of a young boy whose body was discovered on a beach near a boat that had been set on fire.
    Tracey: How do you know?
Sharon: Because they always find a body on the beach in one of those creepy seaside things, like... Broadcliff, or...Southchurch, or... Weston-super-Mare!"
  • Alliterative Title: Seventy Shades of Soho, the next book that Dorien is trying to write.
  • Appearance Angst: When everyone complains about Tracey always looking depressed, Tracey begins to feel insecure and gets botox to improve her appearance.
  • Blatant Lies: Dorien tries to claim that she has never had cosmetic surgery in her life, although the other two don't believe it (and as seen in earlier episodes, she did have a habit of undergoing plastic surgery).
  • Celebrity Resemblance: Apparently, one of the social workers at the Night Shelter that Dorien is working at looks exactly like Johnny Depp.
  • Crossword Puzzle: Tracey is seen doing one such puzzle at the beginning of the episode. One of the hints is "What tennis champion is also a mint?", the answer to which is Andy Murray.
  • Embarrassing Tattoo: The episode reveals that Sharon has, unbeknownst to her, had a tattoo of Norman Parker inside her butt for about 40 years. Once this is pointed out to her, she lies about her age so that she can get free hearing aids and uses the money meant for the hearing aids to remove the tattoo instead.
  • Frozen Face: Tracey, thanks to her botox injections. Sharon notes that Tracey hadn't been able to frown for several days thanks to them. It does wear off after she reacts to Sharon eating an old porkball.
  • The Ghost:
    • Mr. Thomas, who sees Travis' tattoo and gets him suspended.
    • Norman Parker, who Sharon hated and a tattoo of which she accidentally has.
  • Intimate Marks: Sharon's tattoo, at least until she got it removed, was located within her butt cracks.
  • Mistaken for Gay: When Travis mentions being caught in the changing room, Sharon thinks that it means that he prefers boys to girls (in truth, it's because he has a tattoo).
  • One-Shot Character: Mr. Murray.
  • Perpetual Frowner: It's everyone's complaining about Tracey always looking miserable which leads her to take botox.
  • Perverse Sexual Lust: Dorian is quite partial to the Benedict Cumberbatch version of Sherlock.
  • Really 17 Years Old:
    • Travis lies about his age, claiming to be 18 when he wasn't, to get himself a tattoo.
    • Sharon lies about her age (using Dorien's ID) so that she can get free hearing aids and use the money left over to remove her tattoo.
  • Shout-Out: Broadchurch is alluded to and Sherlock is dropped by name.
  • Single-Episode Handicap: For this episode only, Sharon has issues with her hearing, having to turn up the TV, and needing sentences repeated to her, although by the end, she has resolved the issue by getting hearing aids.
  • Take That!: Tracey believes that the worst thing that can happen is Sharon Osbourne.
  • Titled After the Song: The episode title is a reference to The Rolling Stones song "Tattoo You".
  • Urine Trouble: A close call example occurs when Tracey manages to stop an old man from peeing in an exhibit toilet that isn't plugged in.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: Sharon manages to get a tattoo after a drunken night out way back in 1976 that she doesn't remember.
