Internetted

Tilly finds herself sucked into an internet-like dimension where she goes on a mission to find out why Croblins ice cream bars have been permanently discontinued.

"Internetted" contains examples of:

  • All Just a Dream: The entire episode took place in Tilly's imagination; while she is in the internet world trying to find information on the discontinuation of the ice cream bars, outside she's sitting at the doorstep having dozed off.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Or rabbit’s clothing in this case. Agent Information initially presents herself as a crime-fighting secret agent who’s hunting down those who discontinued Croblins Bars in order to get Tilly to follow her, but as the man who’s trapped in her spider web explains, her name isn’t actually "Agent Information", but "Miss Information", and she was actually just intentionally messing with Tilly's head by stringing her along with fake facts and insane conspiracy theories.
  • The Bus Came Back: Itchaboi returns for the first time since season 2’s “Ding Dongers”.
  • Diabolus ex Nihilo: Agent Information's reasons for spreading misinformation are never explained, nor is her real identity revealed, driving home the point that anyone could spread misinformation for any reason.
  • Food Fight: While Tilly is on the internet, the other kids are playing war with expired ketchup from the dumpster of Gloria's cafe.
  • Occam's Razor: After going through a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and misinformation, Tilly learns from Bill that the real reason the ice cream bars were discontinued is because kids were chipping their teeth on the gumball eyes.
  • Open the Iris: Seen on Cricket, Tilly, Remy, and Andromeda in the beginning as they are ordering their ice cream.
  • Punny Name: Agent Information's true identity as Miss Information (misinformation).
  • The Tooth Hurts: Bill reveals from his dentist customer at the Farmer's Market that the reason the ice cream bars were discontinued was because the gumball eyes were known to cause chipped teeth, resulting in a major recall. When Bill buys a bar himself and removed the gumballs for Tilly to eat safely, Cricket finds the gumballs and eats them, chipping his bucktooth as a result.
  • Truth in Television: Gum is known to get extremely hard when it gets cold enough, and since putting gumballs in an ice cream bar that’s being stored in a freezer for most of the day would practically freeze them, the claim that they became hard enough to chip teeth is pretty realistic.
  • Very Special Episode: This episode mostly deals with internet safety.
  • Visual Pun:
    • Tilly gets around the internet on a search engine, which appears as a sentient car engine.
    • Tilly’s descent into misinformation is showcased by her following a female rabbit down various holes.
    • While in the dark web, Tilly gets caught on some threads, which are literal threads from a literal spider web.

Guiding Gregly

On Friendship Day, Cricket feels bad for Gregly when his loud and obnoxious attitude makes no one want to be his friend, so he tries to help him be more agreeable. Meanwhile, Bill resorts to waving at passersby in order to get attention.

"Guiding Gregly" contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: Although Gregly has made sporadic appearances as a Recurring Extra before, this is his first big role.
  • Big "NO!": Cricket screams this as he jumps before Gregly to take the tag for him.
  • The Bus Came Back: After being absent for the majority of the 3rd season, Gregly finally makes a return and gets his own limelight.
  • Chekhov's Gag: Earlier in the episode, Cricket criticizes Gregly for his behavior by comparing him to a grumpy old man. Later on, after failing to help Gregly make friends with the other kids, Cricket actually does manage to find Gregly some genuine friends by introducing him to a group of similarly-minded elderly folks.
  • Close-Knit Community: After Bill fails to get anyone in Big City to wave back at him, he decides to drive to Smallton and walk there, where he's sure to get a friendly wave from everyone.
  • Eye Scream: Cricket gets poked in the eye by Benny when he takes Gregly's tag. Some of the liquid gets on Benny's finger.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Gregly is this to everyone else, as they cannot stand his anger issues and bad temper; he even turns down Cricket and Remy because he does not consider them "good" in his book. He eventually manages to make friends with a bunch of grumpy senior citizens.
  • Hope Spot: Upon realizing Gregly is miserable during mermaid tag and will eventually unleash his suppressed anger once he loses, Cricket takes the hit for him to end the game and stop him. But then Kiki shows the trailer for Croblins 11, which leads to Gregly unleashing his fury on them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While Gregly thinks Cricket is a little stupid, he takes the time to compliment him for helping him find some friends.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Having suppressed his anger playing mermaid tag, Gregly finally unleashes an amount of fury on Benny, Kiki, and Wheezie when they show him the trailer for Croblins 11.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Due to not having any friends, Gregly felt very lonely. He was also seen crying tearfully under the bleachers.
  • Special Guest: Dan Povenmire (Hamster & Gretel, Milo Murphy's Law, Phineas and Ferb) wrote the song "I Found My People" and also voices one of the senior citizens.
  • Taking the Bullet: Not wanting Gregly to explode with anger from getting tagged, Cricket jumps right in front of him to take the hit.
