Open mouth, yeah yeah yeah!
Eat ice cream, yeah yeah yeah!
So you can taste the sweetness!
So you can taste the sweetness!

The tenth episode of Battle for Dream Island Again and the 75th episode of the overall series. Gelatin is eliminated, everybody but Fries switches to FreeSmart and renames it the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute, and the featured challenge is to sell as much ice cream as possible before the first snowfall.

"Taste the Sweetness" contains examples of:

  • Actor Allusion: TomSka being cast as Pineapple serves as a double reference to both Eddsworld, where Tom's father is a pineapple, and asdfmovie, which contains the "Suddenly Pineapples" Running Gag.
  • Anachronism Stew: This episode chronologically takes place in 2014. Several of the recommended characters did not exist yet. These include Adobe Animatenote , The Current YouTube Logonote , multiple Nintendo Switches and a left Joy-Connote , and Impostor Speaker Boxnote .
  • Autocannibalism: Fries and Gelatin both do it during Cake at Stake.
  • Bigger on the Inside: Lewis' trunk is much more spacious inside than it looks when viewed from the outside, with a velvet interior lining.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In The Stinger, Fries tells the viewer to get digging, because "BFDIA 11 is probably underground".
  • The Bus Came Back: In-Universe, Flower makes her first appearance since "Get in the Van", with Puffball Speaker Box having her drive Lewis' car back to Goiky.
  • Call-Back: "Get digging Bomby, the ingredients are probably underground."
  • Charm Person: Icy's beautiful face is so beautiful, everybody but Fries and Golf Ball is compelled to join FreeSmart, with Golf Ball being pulled over by Tennis Ball's newly-earned Swap Token and Fries founding his own solo team. The resulting megateam is dubbed "the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute".
  • Chekhov's Gun: A four-way happens this episode;
    • Before he's eliminated, Gelatin gifts his revolutionary headphones to Tennis Ball, who later makes a miniscope out of it to study the Yoyleite.
    • The volume up button Barbeque Sauce gifted to Pineapple gets brought up again when the former two figure out a way to drive out the customers.
    • Ice Cube's remains, originally going to be used for said ice cream, happen to be knocked off the roof when Tennis Ball kicks his microscope into the buildings side and cause a snowflake to leak out; the conditions for the challenge to end.
    • Fries also swipes the expired pre-baked ice cream at the last second to win the challenge.
  • Compelling Voice: Fries uses this to get Bomby and Needle to dig underground.
  • Dubstep: Per Nickel's suggestion, Pencil's "Taste the Sweetness" chant ends up receiving a dubstep remix.
  • Epic Fail: Despite their massive numbers advantage, the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute did not manage to sell a single ice cream cone to anyone, meaning that Fries, after spending the entire challenge making zero progress because he was too busy making people dig for him, can easily pull off a win in the last thirty seconds of the challenge by grabbing premade ice cream that expired over a year ago and quickly serving it.
Fries: Hey, guys! I, uh, actually have ice cream?
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The team "Fries" consists of Fries... and nobody else.
  • Exact Words: Puffball Speaker Box says that the challenge is over when the first snowflake falls. The challenge ends when Ice Cube's shattered remains fall from the roof of Gelatin's Steakhouse, with a snowflake dropping from her body onto the grass.
  • Freudian Slip: Despite not having any memories of her time in the hellscape, Pencil accidentally refers to Nickel as American 5ยข Denomination.
  • Fun with Acronyms:
    • The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute.
    • One of the possible challenges on the contest wheel is "Brackets, Factors, Decimals, and Inches".
  • Handy Feet: Golf Ball takes notes holding a pen with her foot while studying the Yoyleite.
  • Here We Go Again!: Book says it when Golf Ball appoints herself team leader.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Pin's attempt to sell ice cream has a lot of puns themed around limbs, making the customer nervously decide to not get any ice cream.
  • Hypno Trinket: Tennis Ball's Swap Token has this power. By shining it at a person on another team, they forcefully become compelled to swap to his team. He uses this on Golf Ball to switch her from Team No-Name to FreeSmart.
  • Lethal Chef: Ruby adds several inedible and dangerous ingredients to the ice cream, and proves herself to be Too Dumb to Live when she drinks some of the VX.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: Ice Cube shatters into little pieces when Needle decides to use her to cool the ice cream down.
  • Made a Slave: Fries kidnaps Bomby, takes him to the Evil Forest, and forces him to, "get digging; the ingredients are probably underground." When Needle comes looking for Bomby, Fries does the same ploy on her.
  • Man on Fire: Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Fries are set ablaze by the gasoline used for this episode's Cake at Stake.
  • Medium-Shift Gag: Goiky Highway is fully rendered in 3D, and the Hell world from the previous episode makes a return, with the same purpose.
  • Mind Rape: Fries' approach to making other contestants dig for the ingredients starts to seem more like this by how it's portrayed, specifically by repeating the phrase over and over again with no variation.
  • Mouthscreen: The close-up of Fries' mouth as he says "Needy".
  • Psychic Link: How Coiny and Needle get their voices back. Needle is standing on the roof of Gelatin's Steakhouse, and when she walks directly over Coiny, they become psychically linked, and their voices are swapped back to normal.
  • Shout-Out: One of the passcodes with which Tennis Ball tries to open Gelatin's vault is "02319", a reference to the "2319" scene in Monsters, Inc.
  • Special Guest: Zach Kornfeld of The Try Guys reprises his role as Barbecue Sauce, while Thomas "TomSka" Ridgewell plays Pineapple.
  • Title Drop: Done by Pencil as she encourages the recommended characters to buy her team's ice cream.
  • Trip Trap: En route to Gelatin's Shadeshouse, Golf Ball sticks out her leg to trip Pencil.
  • Way Past the Expiration Date: Coiny finds a tub of "pre-baked" ice cream in the Gelatin's Steakhouse pantry, but it expired on August 2012, making it a year and a half old chronologically.
