Archer and Lana are forced off their day off to pick up a IIA negotiator, leaving A.J. in the company of the rest of the Agency.
Episode Tropes:
- Chekhov's Gun: Babou and Krieger's sensory deprivation chamber are used by A.J. in the fight against the mobs.
- Child Prodigy: A.J. shows some extremely advanced skills for a preteen her age; from being insanely good at using firearms, to knowing Krieger's gadgets from one glance alone.
- Enemy Mine: The Russian Mafia, classic Mafia, and Yakuza all decide to team up because, at the end of the day, they all want to kill the negotiator.
- Everyone Has Standards: After hearing from Archer and Lana how screwed up A.J.'s life is with them as her biological parents, the negotiator decides to help the two save their daughter.
- Friend to All Living Things: A.J. inherited Archer’s talent for befriending animals.Pam: (after AJ befriends Babou) What in the damn zookeeper hell?
- Frothy Mugs of Water: When Lana and Archer finally meet up with A.J., the latter is seen drinking out of a whiskey glass. The last shot of the episode is Archer tasting it, confirming that it's juice and finding it disgusting.
- Honorary Uncle: Pam wants to be called "Aunt Pammy" by A.J., but the latter is reluctant due to having boundaries. By the end, A.J. loosens up and calls Pam as such.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Fabian calls Lana and Archer for assignment. On a Saturday. They aren't used to that, nor happy about it, but Fabian points out that the enemy won't wait for them.
- Like Parent, Like Child: A.J. shows some traits from Archer and Lana including being skilled in martial arts (judo in this case), being friendly to Babou the Ocelot, and being a crack shot with a pistol (though the last one was taught to her by Malory).
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Archer just had to tell the mobs he was a spy and part of the Agency, didn't he? Well, that means they know where their building is.
- Politeness Judo: The negotiator has this in spades to gets on anyone's good side, or to escape. When asked how he is so good at it, he simply says he has a way of connecting to people.
- Take a Third Option: With Fabian not answering his phone to give them the trust password, and this mission already ruining their Saturday, Archer just points a gun at the negotiator because he doesn't have time for any of his crap.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Pam instructs A.J. to hide somewhere else even though A.J. is perfectly capable (and willing to) kill someone with a gun, but Pam counters that, while she can do that, she shouldn't be doing it (at least not yet).
