The Sound of Warners contains examples of:
- Accidental Misnaming: Prunella calls the warners "Petey-Pie", "Wikky", and "Dit".
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Plotz says that Prunella wanting to babysit the Warners makes her either very brave or very stupid. To which Prunella says, "Well, I'm not very brave."
- Erotic Dream: Dot has one about Newt Gingrich, of all people.
- Everyone Has Standards: Even Scratchansniff is put off by Prunella's stupidity.
- Here We Go Again!: After finally getting rid of Prunella, the Warners get a new nanny - this one a Mary Poppins parody.
- Hypocritical Humor: When Dr. Scratchansniff went to relieve himself, he said that nature was calling and it was giving a package. Wakko is disgusted by this analogy, but Scratchy replies, "Look who's talking, Mr. Potty Emergency!", to which Wakko replies, "Yeah, but I would never use 'package'."
- Inadvertent Entrance Cue: We get to see in the mansion of a man who was lamenting that his children scared off yet another babysitter and wondering if he'd ever find someone who could control his rambunctious children. Just then Prunella lands inside the mansion, thanks to being blown up by Slappy.
- Karmic Protection: Due to the fact that Prunella's not doing anything wrong, even when Slappy blows her up it sends the woman hurtling into the home of a parody of the Von Trapps who'll probably appreciate her more than the Warners did.
- Karmic Trickster: Discussed. Yakko, Wakko and Dot can't bring themselves to retaliate against Prunella because she isn't doing anything wrong, just being annoying. So they sic Slappy on her, who doesn't have a moral code like theirs.
- Shout-Out: The entire episode is a parody of The Sound of Music.
- The Warners' new nanny at the end is an Expy of Mary Poppins.
- Take That!: At one point, Dot dryly suggests that Prunella go bug the kids on Goof Troop.
- That Reminds Me of a Song: Prunella sings a lot. At one point, she sings a whole song about oatmeal, for crying out loud.
- The Reveal: We finally learn the Warners' technique. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot only use their force and trickery on people that are mean and a bully towards them or to other people. They never do it if people are kind and nice to them.
- Waxing Lyrical: Yakko has a nightmare about messing up the words to "Yakko's World":Yakko: United States... Canada... Mexico... Jamaica... Haiti... Peru... You left one out... Left... One... Out...?
Yabba Dabba Boo contains examples of:
- Creator Cameo: The writers are all caricatures of the Animaniacs writers.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: It's a Chicken Boo sketch, so yeah.
