Basic Trope: A trio of girls: the tomboyish out-of-town Butch, the girly uptown Femme and the downtown girl who doesn't fit either category.

  • Straight: Bobby from out-of-town is an active, energetic tomboy, Claire from uptown is a prim, proper and traditionally feminine girly-girl and Alice from downtown isn't interested in stuff that's too boyish or too girly.
  • Exaggerated: Bobby is a full-blown mannish-looking lad-ette with Boyish Short Hair who loves sports, play fighting, martial arts, violent video games, hiking, camping, hunting and works part-time at an auto-shop in what essentially is the middle of nowhere. Claire is an English Rose who wears pimped out dresses, her house and everything she owns is pink and/or sparkly, works as a beauty vlogger, and enjoys spending time at spas, boutiques, and salons. Alice is an average girl next door-type who likes basic things such as watching TV, playing casual arcade games, learning, spending time with her friends & family, participating in after-school activities, and has a job at the local department store.
  • Downplayed:
  • Justified: Bobby was raised by her rough and tough father and brothers, Claire was raised by an upper-class wealthy family that deeply valued grace, elegance and womanhood, and Alice was raised in the suburbs where she either got along with boys and girls alike or her parents don't allow her to hang out with other girls or do anything that too boyish.
  • Gender Inverted: Bob from out-of-town is a buff, brash, and boisterous Manly Man, Charles from uptown is a sweet, sensitive, flamboyant boy who is very In Touch with His Feminine Side and Aaron from downtown is a Ridiculously Average Mellow Fellow who isn't interested in stuff that's too manly or too feminine.
  • Subverted: Bobby, Claire, and Alice all have more in common than they expected.
  • Double Subverted : They're actually mimicking each other to get along with the group.
  • Parodied :
    • When all the girls come over to watch TV, Bobby wants to watch the wrestling match, Claire wants to watch Project Runway and Alice is fine with watching whatever is on television.
    • Bobby is so butch that she is constantly mistook for a man (even called things like "dude", "man" and "bro") and some of the manliest of men idolize her, Claire is so feminine, refined and polite that she is practically a Princess Classic and is treated as such wherever she goes and Alice's lack of hyperfeminine and masculine traits make people have a hard time telling her from out of a crowd of regular, everyday people.
  • Zig Zagged:
    • There are times when one of the girls acts more boyish than Bobby, more girly than Claire or stay in-between like Alice.
    • Positions of Claire, Bobby, and Alice vary Depending on the Writer.
  • Averted: All of them are tomboy, girly, or neither.
  • Lampshaded:
    • "Hey Alice, would you say you're an actiony, boisterous squadette like Bobby or a gorgeous, elegant model like Claire?"
    • Alice: "Hmm, neither really."
  • Invoked: The trio intentionally bands together to support this archetype.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied:
  • Discussed: "Bobby and Claire clash way too much, there should be a third girl who doesn't act like neither of them and balances things out so they can work well together."
  • Conversed :???
  • Played For Drama: All of them are Female Misogynist who hate each other's traits and get into a lot of fights since they have little in common, and eventually the team splits into non-amicable terms.
