Basic Trope: A character meets another character without a stitch of clothing.

  • Straight:
    • Bob, the main character, first meets Alice while she is in the shower.
    • Bob and Alice are both naked when they run into each other.
  • Exaggerated:
    • It's not just Alice, but a whole group of undressed ladies.
    • It's not just Bob, but a whole group of bystanders.
    • Every single time Alice meets another character, she's in her birthday suit; sometimes under plain unlikely circumstances.
    • Every single time Bob meets another character, they are naked.
    • On her first day at her new school, Alice ends up stripped naked and exposed in front of all of her schoolmates. She becomes friends with all of them later on.
    • Alice is naked when she meets the other members of the Five-Man Band in a jail cell.
    • Alice is not only naked, but masturbating, relieving herself, dancing or having sex with someone.
    • Every time Alice meets with Bob, she is naked or ends up stripped naked.
    • Alice remains naked for the rest of the story.
  • Downplayed:
    • Alice almost, but not quite, has her towel completely around her when Bob walks in.
    • The first time they meet, Alice is only wearing underwear.
    • Bob sees a nude photo or video of Alice before meeting her for real.
    • Bob dreams or hallucinates Alice naked before seeing her for real.
  • Justified:
    • Bob is on the run from assassins, and hides behind the first door he sees, which happens to be a bathroom currently occupied by Alice.
    • Alice is a naturist, a streaker, or does a Full-Frontal Assault.
    • Bob is Alice's new doctor and has a policy that he never watches his patients undress or dress — they have to be fully nude or clothed whenever he looks at them.
    • Bob is a doctor delivering newborn baby Alice.
    • Some weird situation (such as shapeshifting into a form that was either too large or too small for her clothing) involved Alice being trapped outside naked and Bob is a bystander trying to help her out.
    • Alice was working as a prostitute or a stripper and met Bob in preparation of a job.
    • Bullies stripped Alice naked and tied her up so someone would find her naked. Bob did, but fortunately freed and befriended her.
    • Rapists stripped Alice naked and prepared to rape her, but fortunately Bob rescued her.
    • Alice is an adult actress, and Bob watched one of her works before meeting her in-person.
  • Inverted: Bob is living at a nudist colony when he meets Alice, who is the only one fully clothed.
  • Subverted: Alice initially appears to be Skinny Dipping when she meets Bob, but she's actually wearing a bikini.
  • Double Subverted: ...but Alice loses her bikini in the water while getting out to introduce herself.
  • Parodied:
    • Bob meets Alice at a nudist convention.
    • Alice and Bob are scheduled to meet, but they're both completely unprepared when the time comes, to the point where they have only a single Modesty Towel between them. They proceed to argue over who gets to wear it.
    • Alice and Bob are both animals that only wear an accessory of some kind, and they first meet each other while one/both of them isn't wearing their accessory. They treat this as extremely scandalous.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob meets Alice at a yoga class. Alice arrives wearing a skin-colored leotard, and since Bob happened to misplace his glasses today, he thinks she must be naked and struggles to avoid looking directly at her so she doesn't think he's some kind of pervert. As Alice takes her place in class and starts to stretch, her friend Carol compliments her leotard. Overhearing this, Bob lets himself relax and look at Alice again just as a particularly deep stretch causes her leotard to rip apart and fall off, leaving Alice naked in front of Bob and everybody else.
  • Averted:
    • Alice never appears nude in the series.
    • Alice does appear nude in the series, but Bob knows her by that point.
  • Enforced: Rule of Funny or Rule of Sexy, depending on what they're going for.
  • Lampshaded: "Alice, when you meet people, Please Put Some Clothes On."
  • Invoked: Bob, the Big Bad, has Alice captured by Mooks, whom he tells, "Bathe Her and Bring Her to Me, and don't dress her."
  • Exploited:
    • Bob is on the run from assassins. He enters the bathroom because he hears the shower running. When the assassins enter and see Alice showering, they leave embarrassed.
    • Alice makes short work of Bob, as he's too distracted to put up decent resistance.
    • Alice is The Mole and intentionally shows up this way during her first encounter with the heroes to appear as a vulnerable and helpless individual.
  • Defied: Alice is in the shower, hears someone fumbling around outside, and manages to put on some clothes just as Bob comes bursting in.
  • Discussed: "Meeting someone when you're in the altogether...that's gotta make an impression!"
  • Conversed: "Isn't it funny how the naked person is almost Always Female in these situations?"
  • Implied:
Mike: So Bob, tell us how you met Alice.
Bob: I actually met her after she fell out of a store dressing room. It was really awkward.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Alice's nudity renders the meeting far too awkward, so they don't really get to know each other.
    • Alice freaks out when Bob sees her nude and attacks him.
  • Reconstructed: It's awkward, but they at least agree to formally introduce themselves at a more opportune time.
  • Played for Laughs:
  • Played for Drama: Alice believes Bob is trying to rape her and screams for help.
  • Played for Horror:
    • Alice runs naked into a group of men who attempt to rape her.
    • Alice is naked because she went violently insane and tore her clothes off, and is about to attack Bob.
