On top of existing scary moments that were in
Stardust Crusaders, this fanfic has its own slew of these kinds of moments. It especially helps that the original
7th Stand User iteration brings zombies back into the picture thanks to what it's adapting.
Examples in Both Versions/Original Examples
- The ability of Whitney's Stand, Isis, is a pretty terrifying concept. Not only is Whitney able to redirect any damage she inflicts onto herself to whoever is under her Stand's power, the fact that she can put someone under it just by touching them makes for some Paranoia Fuel as well.
- Jotaro's expanded backstory in chapter 42 of the original version ends with a Nightmare Sequence, where Jotaro finds Holly collasped, and then is suddenly in a dark room with a staircase leading to Dio. Jotaro confronts him and punches through him, only to suddenly find Holly in Dio's place, mortally wounding her instead. This causes Jotaro to let out a Skyward Scream before he wakes up in cold sweat. Even though it's just a dream, a scenario where Holly, even in death, keeps up a brave face for Jotaro is just as sad as it is unsettling.
7th Stand User Version Examples
- Zombies being in the picture again thanks to Vins allows them to be as scary they could be in Phantom Blood, right down to their dialogue, like when Joseph and Hitomi encounter some right after they spot Utah in Singapore.
"Mmm, blood! I can smell warm blood!"
"The young girl next to him smells yummy and sweet! I call dibs!"
- Utah as a zombie is played with a bigger creepiness factor here. Unlike the original game, he displays Horror Hunger with dialogue that reflects it perfectly and even a Lamprey Mouth when he attempts to bite off Hitomi's face before she summons Cardigans to retaliate.
Utah: So... so hungry...So sweet... I want your sweet flesh!!
- Just like a scene in the game, Vins kills DJ Inc and Raul. This being a fanfic however, means that the scene gets to be more detailed as it originally was. Mainly, Vins' neck bite on DJ Inc also causes blood to gush out, with Inc's last sound being a gurgling groan. Additionally, Vins' eyes begin glowing red as she approaches Raul, complete with blood dripping from her mouth. While Raul is still Killed Offscreen, an extra layer of terror is added as the screen fading out in the original game is adapted into all the torches in the room they're in getting extinguished, which creates an equally fitting Scream Discretion Shot.
- How Vins tears apart Tabasaki, Kageyama, and Mizuno's ambush in chapter 53 is not pretty in the slightest, and she does it all with sadistic glee. The first thing she does upon seeing through it is to brutally kill Kageyama by first twisting his arm, then piercing his throat, and finally using his body to gravely injure Tabasaki. She then cuts off one of Mizuno's hands with Hanoi Rocks, and while Mizuno flees after Tabasaki tells her to run, her next scene has her still in pain and crying for help, but nobody helps her. Upon seeing Vins and realizing Tabasaki has died, she flies into a blind panic, runs into the path of a car and is run over. How it crumples her body is the verbal equivalent to multiple Sickening "Crunches", which makes her death pretty gruesome.
