Alex Christensen (also known as Jasper Forks and Alex C.) (born 7 April 1967) is a German DJ and composer who is known for his EDM cover of “River Flows in You”, which charted across Europe.

He also formed the music project U96, and collaborates with The Berlin Orchestra.

Tropes present in Alex Christensen and Jasper Fork's music are:

  • Ambiguous Situation: In the video for “Alone” the guy character teleports to dirty or scary places such as under a rock, or in the middle of the ocean for no reason. He also imagines his girlfriend in a car crash, dying in her sleep, or vanishing in thin air. We're not sure what is the case, or if they're figments of his imagination.
  • Big Friendly Dog: In the video for “River Flows in You” there is a big black dog that roams the streets of Forks. It looks cute yet large.
  • Cover Song: He created a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up” with The Berlin Orchestra.
  • Creator Cameo: Alex himself appears in the video for “More Than This”. He gives the red ball back to the girl. This restores the world’s color but he vanishes shortly afterward.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: In the video for “More Than This” a young girl chases a red ball, which is the only colored element in the video. The rest of the world is portrayed with a dark blue filter.
  • Downer Ending: In the video for “River Flows in You” the woman that visits Forks becomes a vampire and the cycle is doomed to be repeated for future visitors.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Alex’s first music videos had proper storylines. The videos after those consist of models posing in various sceneries.
  • I Have Many Names: He goes under the name of Jasper Forks, or Alex C. for his music.
  • Medium Blending: In the video for “Paradise”, comic book effects and pictures engulf the girl singers. Making them look animated.
  • Meaningful Name: His stage name was named after the character Jasper, and the location Forks, Washington. These are references to the Twilight: Breaking Dawn which is where the original “River Flows in You” song is from.
  • No Ending: In the video for “Alone” the main character guy keeps imagining his girlfriend dying or dumping him. In the ending shot, her face gets blurred and the cycle will most likely repeat.
  • Precious Puppy: There is a fluffy dog that appears in “More Than This” watching the red ball bounce over town. It does look huggable.
  • Shout-Out:
    • ”River Flows in You” heavily references Twilight. The video is set in the town of Forks, Washington which is where the film is set. The original version of this song was created by Yiruma and was instrumental piano.
