BIONICLE
- "BURN STUFF!!!" — any parody of a Toa of Fire, mainly Tahu.
- "Beware My Stinger Tail!" and "I AM THE MIGHTY TUMA!"
- *Insert character here* died for/to save your *Insert noun here*note Due to several characters making Messianic Archetype-esque Heroic Sacrifices throughout the storyline, fans have been prone to making this kind of joke. In particular, Matoro's sacrifice the end of the Mahri Nui arc to resurrect the Great Spirit has become a major Tear Jerker among the Bionicle community. Jaller and Mata Nui himself are also common targets of said jokes given similar actions that they performed during the storyline.
- "Who ate all the pies? Who ate all the pies?"note Real Life British football chant that shows up as a gag during the Kolhii match in the Mata Nui Online Game.
- Who is Voriki?
- "All aboard the Hype Train!" — in response to rumors of Bionicle's return in 2015. Happened yet again in 2022 and 2023 with the releases of the commemorative Tahu minibuild and the Tahu and Takua GWP set respectively.
- Using the term "Kapura'd" as an alternative to "Ninja'd" in some fan circles.
- The "Good Guy/Bad Guy◊" sets have achieved a fair bit of popularity, for being absurdly simple builds with really goofy names. In some circles, it's hit Memetic Badass levels, particularly thanks to Reviving Bionicle.
- "YO, YO, PIRAKA". From the Piraka Rap, a song that was actually produced and released by LEGO for some reason.
- Bonkle.note Humorous bastardization of the brand name. Originated as a term to mock the overzealous fans, but was swiftly and gleefully appropriated by the rest of fandom. Fans will also refer to their sets and MOCs as their "bonks".
- "TAKUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAA!!!"note Jaller's opening line in Mask of Light.
- Move Along as the unofficial franchise Theme Song.note "Move Along" was used as the promotional theme for the Toa Inika commercials, which left a strong enough impression on the fandom.
- The red one.note Poking fun at the way Muggles talk about the franchise and its characters, often drawing from fans' childhood memories of their parents trying to understand what their kids were playing with. In this instance, the "red one" is Tahu.
- Nuvaboobs.note Lampooning a highly overused way of making "sexy" MOCs by attaching the Toa Nuva shoulder plates to the chest area. Rahkshi heads often get a similar reaction.
- The still from Mask of Light of Pohatu trying to get Tahu and Gali to get along is often used to try and mediate disagreements between fans.
- Love isn't canon.note Often uttered by fans citing the ban on canon romance, usually in response to shipping posts. They did it so often that other fans got tired of constantly hearing it, leading to those fans pointing out in response that platonic love isn't part of the ban. Fans will also jokingly pit "love is canon" against some other controversial lore- or building-related decision and debate which one they'd rather have to choose. This is also usually brought up when talking about the many instances of Ship Tease in canon.
- Kongu and his guns.note Many jokes have been made about Kongu being obsessed with guns, (and Dual Wielding), as a consequence of the fact that both his Toa sets had him opting for two ranged weapons as opposed to the usual Toa Sword and Gun combo.
- Pohatu's hips.note The original Mata Pohatu used an upside-down body piece with the wider "shoulder" area instead becoming the hip area to emphasize his use of his feet in combat. This design choice has since become iconic and the source of many a Shakira joke.
- BioniCALS! note Another bastardization of the name often used in dank memes as reaction images, i.e. when bae sees you only have 2 BioniCALS set to an image of someone puking. Like Bonkle before it, the term is used to mock the overzealous part of the fanbase
- Hoseryx note When the TTV Forums held their first of a series of MOC contests to unofficially determine the canon appearance of unseen characters by presenting the winners to Greg Farshtey for his approval, a very simple stick figure take on Toa Helryx using bendy tube pieces to depict her thin and frail description ended up gaining momentum in the polls after 4chan and other online communities decided to spite some of the overbuilt, expensive and pretentious looking entries. When TTV mods responded by removing perceived fake votes after she won the polls and picked the runner-up, the community ended up in something of an uproar over the mods' lack of transparency.
- The Dreamâ„¢️note Many fans have recurring dreams of finding old, rare, or even nonexistent Bionicle toys in stores, only to wake up to the crushing disappointment that it was just a dream. Vivid images of store shelves lined with long discontinued sets are common, usually, those missing from one's collection. Though this is an actual phenomenon fans experience rather than something made up, it's so ubiquitous that it's become a running joke. If someone says they had "The Dream", other fans will know what they mean.
- Simporak.note The rise of the slang term "simp" (meaning a man who makes grandiose gestures towards a woman he has unrealistic views of, in the hopes that she'll pay attention to him) got applied to Sidorak pretty quickly in regards to Roodaka, given his strong resemblance to the archetype.
- Bionicle Lore. note Because of simply how much world-building went into the series initial decade-long run, the toy line's rather complex and intricate style of storytelling is a meme all of its own.
- Show Her Your Bionicle Collection.note Fans have joked that showing women your Bionicle collection is enough to make them attracted to you.
- LGBT fans joke that "all Bionicles are bi, it's in the name." Some people have also edited the logo to read Gayonicle, Transonicle, Lesbionicle, etc.
- Crossing over with Transformers, there's the common joke that, contrary to the names, Bionicle makes you trans, while Transformers makes you bisexual.
- Lime green pieces.note In mid-2007, a manufacturing defect made lime green pieces, especially ball-and-socket joints, extremely weak and brittle. Hahli Mahri has become the poster child of this meme due to her set being released right around this time.
- Googly Bonks.note After the reveal of a goofy brick-built Tahu in LEGO's 90th anniversary set the fandom first reacted negatively, but quickly changed its tune, glad that LEGO had acknowledged BIONICLE in some way other than stickers, and embraced it, making other characters in the same style.
- r/The_Dume: A subreddit parodying Donald Trump and his supporters, comparing him to Teridax-as-Dume from Legends of Metru Nui. Dume is prone to claiming the Toa Metru are "spreading fake news", similar to his lies in the movie itself.
- A related meme Snowclones his line "Perhaps you are using inferior disks", replacing disks with any one-syllable word that starts with D and ends with "KS" (decks, docks, dicks, dukes, etc.)
- Bionicle Instructions.note Images taken from Bionicle instruction manuals being taken out of context and used in reaction or image labeling memes.
- Whenua Drill.note An image taken from Whenua Metru's instructions showing how to combine his weapons into a drill has earned the mockery of the fandom due to how it shows him lying flat on the ground. Naturally, Whenua's pose has been edited into various images.
- Lewa Swinging his Axe.note An image taken from Lewa Mata's instructions showing how his gear function works (which causes him to swing his axe). The image is usually used to represent situations of either anger or frustration.
- NUPARU WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS! note Fans eventually drew similarities between the circumstances of the creation of the Boxor and the Iron Man Mk I armor as feats of engineering made to escape from dire straits, as well as between their creators, Nuparu and Tony Stark respectively. Jeff Bridges' quote from the MCU adaptation was thus exploited and frequently comes up whenever the Boxor is mentioned.
- Bionicle Meme Commercialsnote In 2023, with the rise of AI-generated voice programs, some Youtubers decided to use the voice of the narrator for Bionicle commercials, Tony Wedgewood, to make their own commercials. These short videos consist of the original Bionicle TV commercials with AI Tony saying rather crude and tangent narration with swearing added onto it, along with lampshading the concepts of the toy brand.
Other LEGO
- "A man has fallen into the river in LEGO City!"Explanation A memorable phrase from the LEGO City Rescue Helicopter commercial.
- "START THE NEW RESCUE HELICOPTER!"Explanation Another memorable phrase from the same commercial.
- "HEY!"Explanation A memorable Running Gag from multiple LEGO City commercials. Once per commercial, a character (or several characters) will shout "HEY!" when they realize that the very object they need at that moment has not yet been built.
- Stepping on Legos.Explanation As anyone who's ever stepped on a LEGO barefoot can tell you, they're very painful. Some memes exaggerate this by comparing the pain to walking over hot coals or barbed wire.
