Topsy and Tim is a British childrens book series by Jean and Gareth Adamson which later became a CBeebies television programme that ran from 11 November 2013 to 18 November 2015.
The show provides examples of:
- Birthday Episode: The titular twins turn 5 in "Birthday Party"
- Camping Episode: Camping Weekend, also counting as a Sick Episode
- Character in the Logo: Topsy and Tim are featured in the show's logo
- Cheerful Child: Topsy and Tim are both this. Their friends count as well.
- Christmas Episode: Christmas Eve
- "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: Ending theme tune that is. While the opening version of the theme is sung by an uncredited vocalist, Jocelyn Macnab and Joshua Lester (Topsy and Tim's actors) perform a reprise of the opening theme over the end credits of most episodes.
- Demoted to Extra: Tony Welch in Series 3. Justified, as he has moved to another neighborhood and does not attend the same school as the twins.
- Here We Go Again!: In "Rainy House" , Brian is able to fix the roof that was speaking over the twins' bedroom, but then, the bathroom leaks as well.
- Just a Kid: Topsy and Tim aren't able to do everything yet, due to being 4-6 over the course of the series.
- Karma Houdini: Topsy and Tim receive minimal to no punishment for misbehaving.
- No Antagonist: Being a realistic Slice of Life series, the show has no villian whatsoever.
- Not Allowed to Grow Up: Averted. The titular twins are 4 for Series 1 and most of Series 2, turn 5 in "Birthday Party" and are 6 in Series 3.
- Slice of Life: The show focused on the titular twins and their family and friends as they experience daily life.
- Slumber Party: Kerry spends the night at the twins' house in "School Shoes" .
- Teachers Out of School: The twins' Kindergarten teacher, Miss Terry, visits their house in "Teacher Visit".
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Tony Welch, in Series 3.
- Very Special Episode: "Lovely Mossy", which focuses on the death of Mossy (Grandma's Dog).
- Never Say "Die": Averted in "Lovely Mossy". The word "Die" is stated several times.
- First Day of School Episode: "First Day"
- Sick Episode: Topsy, and later Tim, contract chickenpox in the episode of the same name
- An entire story arc in Series 3 was dedicated to Topsy suffering a Ruptured Appendix and being admitted to hospital.
- Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: Happens in the Grand Finale "All Change". Joy is pregnant with a baby boy (the twins' unborn younger brother), Grandma has gotten a new rescue dog named Pippa, Tony Welch is getting another sibling, and Topsy and Tim are back to sharing a room after Tim gives up his room to be the baby's nursery.
