Main pairings

     Bocchi Hitori x Nako Sunao
  • Episode 1. Aside from the English name of the episode literally being called "My First Confession," you have...
    • Bocchi becomes elated at Nako speaking to her...even though she had insultingly nicknamed her "Barf."
    • The two share cell phone numbers with each other, which Bocchi admits was fun.
    • Bocchi tells Nako that she felt as though she was beginning to like her to which Nako reacts accordingly.
    • Flower petals are everywhere in the last scene of the episode.

  • Episode 2:
    • To better understand Nako, Bocchi asks her if she has any problems, to which Nako replies that she has this strange girl that follows her around who'd made her life a little more interesting. Bocchi naturally completely misses that she was alluding to her.
    • The episode also starts Nako's playful habit of teasing Bocchi by reaching behind her and tapping her shoulders.
    • Bocchi tries to make up to Nako for unintentionally making her upset and tells her that while she may have started to speak with her because of her promise with Kai, she grew to "love" her. Naturally, Nako blushes in embarrassment, informing her that others would take what she said the wrong way.
    • Nako being upset upon learning that Bocchi plans to befriend everyone in the class to get back together with Kai can easily be read as romantic jealousy toward Kai.

  • Episode 3:
    • Nako puts Bocchi to bed when she came down with a sudden fever. She also tells her that she could make as much trouble for her as she wanted.

  • Episode 6:
    • Bocchi loudly states that she wished that everyone on Earth was like Nako to which Nako states that would be creepy.
    • Bocchi decides to help Nako with her studying and goes as far as to tickle her to make her laugh.

  • Episode 7:
    • Bocchi applying sunscreen on Nako's back in a fashion that makes Nako laugh.

  • Episode 9:
    • Nako seemed slightly offended by Hitori referring to her as the girl who sat in front of her in class and directly asks her if that was all she had to say. She later pouts about it in a passive-aggressive tone.

  • Episode 10:
    • When Bocchi passes out for the umpteenth time, Nako allows her to use her lap as a pillow.

     Bocchi Hitori x Kai Yawara
  • One time Kai made Bocchi promise that she would allow her to live with her once she became a landlord.
  • Really, the relationship reads more like a genuine breakup.
  • Right after breaking ties with Bocchi, she says as she cries that she would rather live in an island with her.

     Nako Sunao x Aru Honshou
  • Their relationship is one of Vitriolic Best Buds. Being who she is, Nako continually calls Aru "unfortunate", to which Aru retorts by headbutting her at full force.

     Sotoka Rakita x Bocchi Hitori
  • In episode 4, Sotoka becomes Bocchi's apprentice after she had mistaken her for a ninja. This also is the beginning of a running gag where Sotoka picks Bocchi up and causes her to pass out from discomfort.
  • Sotoka carries Bocchi in episode 7 after she had fainted. She is also contemplating on officially befriending her when she woke up.
  • Episode 8 sees Sotoka spending less time "ninja training" so she wouldn't be a burden on Bocchi as she tried to befriend Kako. Even when it pained her to. In return, Bocchi gives her a notebook to further teach her on the ways of the ninja.
  • Episode 10:
    • Sotoka becomes even more conflicted about whether she should be Bocchi's friend or apprentice, and noticeably appears jealous of Peko and Ito when Bocchi refers to them with "chan." She eventually decides to abandon the master/apprentice role to become her friend.
    • She gives Bocchi a shuriken. Inside of it is a message from Sotoka proclaiming that she loved her more than ninja.

  • Chapter 69: While she calls several classmates by their names, she noticeably doesn't call Bocchi by hers. Sotoka then tries to explain that she does so because Bocchi was special when Bocchi gets saddened by it.

    Kako Kurai x Hitori Bocchi
  • Kako acts like a Tsundere towards Bocchi in that while she agrees to chat with her, she makes it clear that she has a policy on not making friends.
  • Kako laughs at some of Bocchi's mannerisms and nearly forgets her own rule of having proper posture whilst thinking about her.
  • Kako corners Bocchi in the hall in a way not too dissimilar to a man confessing to a woman.
  • Episode 9:
    • Kako noticeably blushes frequently whenever she was around Bocchi.
    • At the end of the episode, Kako decides to become Bocchi's rival when she realized that her ideology conflicted with hers. Before this decision, she took Nako aside and asked her how much she knew about Bocchi on an individual level.

  • Episode 12:
    • In her feverish state, Kako lends Bocchi a DVD. While she had unwittingly forgotten to return it to its case, the reason behind her actions are obvious.

     Hitori Bocchi x Mayo Ojosa
  • Mayo affectionately picks up Bocchi's tic of saying "thanks, my dude."

Others

  • Episode 6 has Oshie trying to conquer her fear of Nako, featuring a vivid Imagine Spot of Nako referring to her as "sensei" and stating that she was thankful to be in her class. Her scenario is also rife with sparkly imagery.
    • In that same episode, when Oshie explains that she couldn't be Bocchi's friend on the grounds of being her teacher, she nevertheless tells her that she's always there to assist her when she asked. Bocchi has an Imagine Spot where there are flower petals everywhere.
