  • In chapter 4, Kodachi reveals that her missing mother has been gone for so long she no longer remembers precisely how she went missing, but she suspects that she walked out on her. The other teens immediately express sympathy for her and try to cheer her up.
  • In chapter 8, Shampoo tries to commiserate with Kodachi after the latter embarrassedly admits she's having problems in English class by noting the Chinese Amazon's own problems with learning Japanese.
  • In chapter 9, Ranma and Shampoo get to have some time to themselves, testing out Shampoo's new Zoan powers. As much as it serves a serious purpose, it's portrayed more as two friends goofing off and having a good time, and Shampoo herself notes that this is the first time she's ever been able to spend a prolonged amount of time with Ranma where he actually seems to be happy to be with her, in comparison to their disastrous "dates" from canon.
  • Chapter 14 opens with Ranma (in female form) and the girls sleeping in a huddle for warmth, an incredible display of intimacy given how the group would normally react.
    • When Ranma awakens and discovers a cabbit-form Shampoo has curled up on his (well, currently her) chest to sleep, Ranma scratches the Chinese Amazon zoan behind her massive ears and confides in Nabiki that he always wanted a pet.
  • Chapter 15:
    • When the Kamikazes first meet Miriam, they mistake her for a normal shark and throw a harpoon at her. She seems genuinely happy and surprised when Ranma apologizes for the mistake.
    • Upon hearing that Shay-Lot is being terrorized by a murderer and the Navy refuses to help, the Kamikazes are universally disgusted and promise Agnetha, one of the community's leaders, that they will try to stop whoever is doing it.
    • During the fight against the murderer, things are looking bad, with the mad giant getting ready to literally crush a helpless Ukyo underfoot. Ranma, in a fit of protective rage, forces himself to use the "become a giant" technique that he's only ever seen his father and Happosai use to protect his Childhood Friend, screaming at the murderer not to hurt his Uccchan. It gets even more poignant in the epilogue, where it's stated that Ranma's lack of familiarity with the technique means it could have killed him, but he didn't even stop to think about that in his rush to protect Ukyo.
    • Upon learning that her daughter Miriam is fighting the murderer who has had the whole island of Shay-Lot hiding in terror, the giantess Agnetha charges into battle waving what is described as "the biggest axe that the Kamikaze Pirates had ever seen".
    • Their efforts to stop the murderer makes the Kamikaze Pirates into heroes as far as Shay-lot is concerned, the point that the best and brightest shipwrights of the community come together to prioritize building a replacement ship for their heroes.
    • In retrospect, it seems obvious that Gogmagog telling Miriam she shouldn't have returned is his way of saying she should leave so she won't have to deal with being suspected of killing other giants.
  • Chapter 16: On learning of Harumi's miserable life and the abuse heaped on him by his mother, Ranma impulsively offers Harumi a chance to join the Kamikaze Pirates. When Harumi is abducted, the Kamikazes all agree to storm the Crying Willow School to rescue him despite knowing him for only a few hours. It's little surprise Harumi would accept the offer in the end.
  • Chapter 17:
    • Harumi shows more of his attraction to Miriam, and they even bond a little over liking cheesy romance stories.
    • The fiancés deciding to call a truce over how they pursue Ranma.
    • Shampoo admits she feels insecure pursuing a relationship with Ranma due to how much stronger he is, as Amazons typically view an unequal relationship as shameful for the weaker partner. She's been spending so much time in her Zoan form recently because it puts her closer to even footing with Ranma, but she's ashamed of having to rely on an unearned power to do so. Ukyo hugs Shampoo and assures her that Ranma would never be so petty and that he values Shampoo, not her Devil Fruit.
    • After being included in the truce as a potential contender, Nabiki admits to Ranma that she's open to pursuing a relationship with him but needs to think on it.
    • Ranma reflecting on the fact that he got to know the girls much better since they left Nerima, and he likes what he's seeing.
  • Chapter 18:
    • Harumi immediately notices that Miriam is in a downer mood and, out of concern, goes to Ranma and pleads with him to check on her, as he's too shy to do it himself.
    • Upon checking in with Miriam and discovering that she's downbeat because she knows everybody will think of her as ugly for her looks and race, Ranma assures her that she is a perfectly attractive woman and guarantees her that somebody will be asking her to dance during the Black-Tie Infiltration.
    • The last evening before arriving at Sukumvit Island, Ranma notes to himself that he thinks of his crewmates as his friends, and he vows that he will not let them get hurt for the sake of his ego.
    • Harumi finally musters the courage to confront his crush head on by asking Miriam to dance, and she says yes. When the narrative next flicks back to them, they are noted as only having eyes for each other and dancing together like they were made for one another. Harumi comes clean about his feelings for Miriam, who confesses to liking him back, and they decide they want to try dating once they are back on the ship and away from this island, with Miriam inviting Harumi to join her in a barrel of rum.
  • Chapter 20:
    • When Willy takes Anaguma hostage to force Ranma to stay still enough for Willy to shoot him, Harumi manages to successfully create a Razor Wind attack for the first time to save his captain. Also an awesome moment.
    • Ranma wakes up from his exhaustion-induced slumber post-Gasparde fight, the crew, first Shampoo followed by the others, all rush in, excited that he's okay.
  • Chapter 21:
    • When the Kamikaze Pirates encounter the demoralized remnants of one of the Foxy Pirates' Davy Back Fights, they willingly give up some of their spare sails, food and water so the now ex-pirates can sail back to civilization, just because it's the compassionate thing to do.
    • As part of the Training Montage, we see Harumi lifting weights whilst Miriam sincerely cheers him on, even though she's far stronger. The rest of the crew's women can only watch them in admiration, before agreeing that they'll not talk about the pair's obvious relationship until they feel comfortable enough to share it with the crew.
    • Shampoo gives Ukyo a new noodle recipe to help improve her noodle-based techniques. When Ukyo suspiciously asks why she'd do that, Shampoo declares that she's always respected Ukyo, even though they were enemies.
    • Ranma's interactions with Dyna in the chapter finale, when you stop and think about it. Ranma doesn't know Dyna as anything other than the crazy Fem Bot that's tried to kill him twice, and his combination of agility, speed and strength means that Ranma could easily destroy the comparatively slow and clumsy gynoid. Most people in Ranma's position wouldn't hesitate to destroy Dyna; she's only been a problem, and she's just a robot. Ranma, however, deliberately chooses to try and spare Dyna's life, simply because she didn't want this fight. He even tries to rip off her Shock Collar to free her when Ryoga takes too long, and rather than giving up when it electrocutes him, he fights through the pain and keeps yanking until it breaks. Dyna even notes it would have been far easier for him to just destroy her.
  • Chapter 22:
    • Kodachi's discovers the smith who crafted the shattered Graded blade she stole, who has apparently fallen into drunken despair over the blade's fate. When she suggests giving the sword a new life as a sword-whip, the man is reinvograted by the idea of redeeming his failures.
    • Ranma going on dates with his paramours amid the training. This includes Nabiki finally admitting to herself and Ranma that she seriously wants to compete for his heart as well.
      • He later states he has "four girlfriends", showing he's accepted them as such.
    • Miriam sees a Sea King going after Harumi. Cue protective girlfriend attack.
  • When Kodachi and Shampoo lose the Spider Sky Walk in Chapter 23, Ranma gives them both a hug and assures them that he's not disappointed.
  • Ranma orders Shampoo to sit out the Hit & Dead Ball match, despite the disadvantage this puts them at, because he's worried about her health after the myriad bee-stings she took in the Spider Sky Walk.
  • After losing Dyna to the Foxy Pirates in the Hit & Dead Ball match, Ranma vows to her that he'll do everything he can to win her back. When she points out that it would make far more sense to focus on winning back Ukyo, Ranma responds that she is also his crewmate, and her freedom is equally important.
    • Throughout the second set of matches, Ranma always chooses the other stolen members of the crew when they win and leaves himself for last. He got them into this mess by agreeing to Foxy's challenge, so he has to save them first.
  • After Harumi wins the Pick-a-Pretty Pirate match, he and Miriam decide to finally come clean about their relationship to the other Kamikaze Piraters. They already knew they were together, but they appreciate the trust.
  • When the Kamikaze Pirates won the Davy Back Fight, Foxy and his crew resign themselves to another humiliation after Ranma chooses their pirate flag (poorly drawn by Luffy previously) for him to remake. Instead, to their surprise, he has Kodachi give them a gorgeous new Jolly Roger that genuinely looks cool, and explain that he just couldn't leave them sailing under such an ugly one. They are legitimately grateful to Ranma for it.
  • In Chapter 25, the crew's sincere delight for Dyna when they finally get confirmation from Shiki that Sky-Islands exist, and the knowledge of how to reach the Sky-Sea.
    • When Harumi accidentally gets a glimpse of Penelope under her robes and learns that she's a Mink, he agrees to keep her secret.
  • The Kamikazes giving Lilith food, after she'd been stranded in the Stomach Baron without it for a week.
  • In Chapter 27, after Nabiki discovers Shampoo's nightly habit of sneaking into Ranma's room to sleep cuddled up to him, Shampoo offers to let Nabiki join since there's plenty of room. The willingness to share shows how accepting Shampoo has become of the other girls.
  • Chapter 28:
    • Miriam takes Harumi for a ride through the sea-clouds, letting her smaller boyfriend cling to her back as she rockets through the faux-ocean like only a sharkgirl can. When she realizes Penelope would like a go as well, she happily adds the skunk to her back and resumes cavorting like an oversized dolphin.
    • When Ranma sees a fire break out in Thunderhead Bay, his immediate response is to go to help extinguish it.
    • Harumi and Miriam both try to take all the blame for starting the fire that got the Kamikaze Pirates chased out of Thunderhead Bay, neither being willing to let the other get in trouble with Ranma for it.
  • Chapter 29:
    • When Ranma thinks Ukyo has been crushed under the bell she saved from falling on him, he's absolutely heartbroken. The instant he sees she's alive, he crushes her in a hug and scolds her not to scare him like that, with Ukyo only able to blush, smile like an idiot, and babble inanely as her lifelong crush embraces her.
    • When assigned to laundry duty, Miriam mentions that, as a Shark Man, she can easily smell the blood in the boiling laundry vats and the resultant steam. When her stomach growls, the nuns flinch away in fear, leading to an indignant Kodachi calling them out for their Fantastic Racism.
    • Penelope and Harumi bonding over their shared love of books in the library. Harumi even privately assesses the mink's geeking out over the sheer size of the library as one of the most adorable things he's ever seen.
    • The Kamikazes intervening when the criminal nuns are about to execute the Chaser sisters in cold blood.
  • Chapter 30:
    • Penelope bonding with Dyna over their shared desire to learn more about their homelands.
    • After the scrolls are destroyed, Ranma cheers up Dyna by pointing out that they at least know that Dyna's homeland is called Hestavar now, and that even if she can't find it, she's always got the rest of the Kamikazes.
  • Chapter 31:
    • The Skryre catch a break after the Kamikazes defeat Nosferatu, as the villagers of Wisborg are perfectly willing to work with them instead of forcing them to rummage through trash like the rats that they resemble, much to their shock.
  • Chapter 32:
    • Dyna arrives home. That's heartwarming enough as it is.
    • Dyna defends Ranma and the crew to her sisters when the latter tries to force the Kamikazes to leave after everything they did for her.
    • Dyna's people have two types of body, "life-shells", which look like child-sized (but not necessarily child-proportioned) dolls, and "war-shells", which are hulking, ape-like frames loaded with dial weaponry. By the time that Dyna finds her way to Hestavar, there are barely half a dozen war-shells left, because the gynoids have been at peace for so long they dismantled them.
    • When Kubera tries to use Harumi as a hostage in order to force Lilith to surrender, the swordsman refuses to submit and tells Lilith not to agree rather than let her go back to that monster.
    • When Dyna decides to leave Hestavar to be part of Ranma's crew practically permanently, her people have done something special for her, especially since iron-cloud is especially brittle below cloud level... They used the raw materials from Dyna's spider-tank body to make Dyna effectively a brand-new Hestavar war-shell, removing most of the drawbacks of her replacement body and giving her a way to continue to be part of the Kamikazes.
