• When Atticus jumps in front of and takes a hit from a Hydro Pump in order to save Dragonthing.
• After the Masked Man and Kahn leave afterwards, Atty says to DT that she did a good job and gives her some chocolate. Cue smiling on both sides.
  • Although immediately subverted when Atty recalls DT before she gets to eat it.
• Kahn stealing a Bulbasaur from Professor Oak to give to his sister so she wouldn't feel left out after not getting a starter. Especially since Oak was just going to send it to the waste disposal center...
• After getting healed up from the "adventure" in Viridian Forest, DT jumps up to her spot on Atty's back, and gets a genuine smile back in return. It's a small moment, but shows just how much Atty's starting to grow.
• During the night spent in Viridian Forest, Atty gets cold sitting away from the fire while he draws. DT helpfully lends him her tail flame for warmth.
• After beating Gym Leader Stein, Atticus thanks Dragonthing for helping him and then gives her a hug.
• In this page, Atty goes through his balls in search of DT and then smiles at her. One page later, he apologises for accidently leaving her behind, then pets her! He's really grown to love the little thing.
