- Why set this comic in the anime universe? It used very little of the anime's canon, it doesn't have the same tone as the series, and it creates a Plot Hole when someone says a Bidoof was just discovered in Sinnoh.
- It also mentions the Elite Four, instead of having a tournament style competition like in the anime. My guess would be that the anime protagonists/names are just more readily recognizable than the game ones.
- It's a mix of both and H0lyhandgrenade basically said she wasn't really keeping to canon.
