I love you Sean.

     General

  • The relationship between Sean and Daniel. They might not always get along, Daniel can be annoying and Sean can be dismissive, but it's clear that they love one another. Daniel is content to cuddle up to Sean when he gets the chance to, and likes just getting to spend time with him. Sean, for his part, is incredibly protective of Daniel, and always ensures that he's safe and taken care of before anything else.

     Episode 1 - "Roads"

  • The first episode has shown the close friendship between Sean and Lyla.
    • When Sean talks about his crush on Jenn, Lyla does not hesitate to help him out with his texting.
    • Their texts have shown that they got each other’s backs when it comes to issues such as homework and troubles in their lives like Lyla’s depression or Sean having to be a second parent to his brother.
    • When Sean rudely forces Daniel out of his room during his Skype call with Lyla, she's quick to stand up for Daniel and call Sean out for being mean to him.
    • When on the run, Lyla is the only person Sean bothered to text after everyone learned about his father’s death.
    • Before Sean throws away his phone, he can choose to call Lyla one last time to say goodbye, with both of them crying that they won’t see each other for awhile.
  • In one of Sean and Lyla's texts, there was an incident where Daniel used Sean's phone to speak to Lyla, whom he has a crush on. Lyla saw right through it and played along, even calling him her "favorite Diaz".
  • Esteban is quickly established as a great parent to Sean and Daniel, being attentive and loving to them while still not crossing the line into overbearing. Sadly, this also gets him killed, as he gets shot by Officer Matthews while trying to assure him that they hadn't done anything wrong.
  • While Sean has the choice whether to hug Esteban or not, he'll always tell his father that he loves him. Sean also says this to him in their text message history.
  • Several of the texts Sean receives after the brothers go on the run express sympathy and support for him, telling him he can reach out to them if he needs help. In addition to Lyla and Sean's boss, Jenn sends him a message and says that while her mom said to not contact him and to stay out of things, she wanted to text him anyway.
  • When Daniel has a nightmare while camping in the woods, Sean will comfort him by stroking his hair and staying close to him.
  • Brody and the way he helps the brothers on the road. He's introduced as a somewhat eccentric character disconnected from much of society and one can be forgiven for predicting he'll attempt to pull some kind of nasty move on the brothers if they put their trust in him. Instead, he bails the brothers out of the gas station situation, ends up providing a listening ear to Sean, gifts the brothers an extra bag with all the money in it he has on him and buys them a motel room for the night before he has to leave. He leaves a touching hand-written letter in the bag he gifts the brothers as well.
  • Daniel loses control of his powers when he finds out that their father was killed and that Sean has been lying to him all of this time. Sean forces his way closer to him, despite Daniel pushing him away and screaming that he hates him, until he's able to give his little brother a Cooldown Hug. Daniel then breaks down crying, and Sean just hugs him and nuzzles his forehead to his, apologising and insisting that he'll try to do better by him from now on.
  • When they're on the bus, Daniel lifts Sean's arm up so he can cuddle up into his side. He then asks Sean for a bedtime story, who after some hesitation, complies. They both end up falling asleep on one another.

     Episode 2 - "Rules"
  • If you managed to call Lyla in episode 1 and call her again, she will be much more relieved to hear Sean and they both have a long conversation about how they were since they last called. This time, both of them made sure they say good bye to each other and when all the craziness is over, promise to see each other again.
  • If you made the right choices for Daniel, when he and Sean have to leave, he can share a heartfelt good-bye to Chris. Should you not have to save Chris from a police car, Chris will give Daniel his cape and the two will do their superhero signal as a sign of farewell.
  • Daniel and Chris's friendship. They become fast friends, given that they're both into the same superheroes, and they're absolutely adorable playing with one another. If you follow the correct path, Chris will even help Sean and Daniel escape from the police through his backyard, and gives Daniel his beloved Captain Spirit cape as a token of their friendship.
    • After Daniel saves Chris from falling from the treehouse, which is heartwarming in itself given that he didn't even hesitate to help him, Chris mistakenly thinks that he has superpowers. Daniel plays along with this simply because it makes Chris happy. Daniel only tells him the truth if Sean tells him that Chris might put himself in danger if he thinks he has powers. For his part, Chris doesn't appear to be mad at Daniel, though he is apparently disappointed that he isn't the one with powers.
  • Sean can get Chris to open up to him, having noticed that his home life isn't the best. Sean is nothing but kind and gentle towards Chris, showing how much he's grown up while having to take care of Daniel. Sean can even draw things for Chris at the Christmas Market to make him happy.
  • A surprising moment comes when Charles confesses to Sean that he's not had it easy since his wife died. The two can bond over the fact they've lost a loved one and now have to raise a young child without any support. Charles is really humanised here, and while it's no excuse for what he's done to Chris, it's obvious that he loves him.
  • In the Reynolds's house, there is a picture of Sean as a kid hugging his baby brother Daniel.
  • Claire and Stephen take Sean and Daniel in without hesitation, even knowing that this makes them accomplices by harboring known fugitives. While the boys are there, they both act as doting grandparents to them, with the only real source of contention being Daniel's desire to know more about Karen.
  • Claire leaves a chore list on the fridge for the boys consisting of 3 items: do their laundry, clean their room, and hug their grandparents.

     Episode 3 - "Wastelands"
  • Though Lyla doesn't appear in this episode, Sean can still talk fondly about her when Cassidy asks about his former life after drawing her, to the point where he flat out says that next to his own father, he misses her the most out of anyone in his old life.
  • If Sean chooses to go to bed early with Daniel over staying to get a haircut, the brothers have a talk about what happened at the lake, which results in Daniel opening up about his anger and that he knows he hasn't been that nice to Sean. He'll also admit that he still likes the watch Sean gave him, and will request another story about the Wolf Brothers. Sean uses the story to reassure Daniel that even with new friends, he will not leave his brother behind.
  • If Sean decides to join Cassidy in her tent after their swim, then the two of them will have sex. Sean feels embarrassed about how it ended, but Cassidy, instead of laughing about it, points out that since he's a virgin, it's normal for his first time to not be the best and encourages him to continue to try and have sex when the moment shows up so he can get better.

    Episode 4 - "Faith"
  • During Sean's time at the hospital, he received three letters from the people he encountered during his journey.
    • His grandparents wrote that they know what happened and are doing their best to find Daniel as well as put in a good word for Sean during his trial.
    • Chris reveals that his relationship with his father is a lot better and they now spend time outside. If he got hit by the cops during Rules, then it is revealed that he made a full recovery.
    • Though Cassidy reveals that since the incident in Wastelands affected her group, she has nothing but nice things to say about the Diaz brothers and wishes Sean luck on his trial.
  • Sean's relationship with his nurse Joey is pretty much a light during his dark hours at the hospital. Despite being reluctant to admit it, it is clear that Joey sees Sean as innocent and even if he's not convinced to help Sean escape, is willing to hear him out and look the other way instead of reporting him to security.
  • Sean has a dream about him and Esteban on a road trip, the one they never got to go on while he was still alive. Esteban is as kind as ever and still manages to give Sean advice about his dating life. If Sean kissed Finn and admits it, Esteban is still just as supportive.
    • In the same dream, there's a phone call from Lyla who is babysitting Daniel. Sean and several fans were delighted to hear her voice again.
  • During one of Sean's conversation with Karen, he can ask for a smoke and mention that he and Lyla used to smoke together a lot. Karen then reveals that she and Esteban used to do that as well and in a bit of a light Ship Teasing, said that this is how you know that someone is important to you.
  • Daniel and Sarah Lee's friendship is adorable. Sarah Lee happily tells Sean how kind Daniel has been to her, and Daniel keeps a drawing that Sarah Lee drew of them both under his pillow. Mentioning that Lisbeth is putting Sarah Lee's health, and potentially her life, in danger by withholding hospital treatment from her is one of the reasons that finally gets Daniel to see how evil Lisbeth really is.
  • Daniel hugging Sean from behind when they're in the car after leaving the church. Sean smiles, looking the happiest he has all episode and takes Daniel's hand in his in response.

    Episode 5 - "Wolves"
  • Despite losing Joyce if you choose the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay option, David and Chloe have gotten a lot closer since the last time we saw them. David's trailer has pictures of Chloe from both his time in Arcadia Bay and the aftermath, and if you look at the photo with her and Max, she no longer has her blue hair, a subtle implication that she has finally moved on from William's death to the point where she's willing to ask David for fatherly advice, something the old Chloe would have never done.
    • Sean can find a letter from Victoria Chase where it is revealed that not only did she survive the storm, she still considers David to be her savior from Jefferson and even wishes Max and Chloe luck. Good to see at least one former Blackwell student who has turned her life around for the better thanks to Max and David's actions.
    • The fact that despite everything they’ve been through, Max and Chloe are still together should bring a smile to the face of any player who chose not to sacrifice Chloe at the end of the previous season.
  • When Sean and Daniel stop to bust open the wall, a cache of supplies can be seen nearby. These caches exist in real life, set up to aid those who find themselves in need while out in the desert. Along with food and water, these are also equipped with a panic button that will summon assistance to that location.
  • Speaking to Lyla in "Roads" and "Rules" will allow Sean to see a picture of both of them together on Facebook, remembering the happier times and her comment has her believe that they will one day meet again. You can see that a couple of people have liked her comment including Jenn, who they had a falling out in Episode 2. Looks like Lyla's persistence on proving the Diaz brother's innocence is paying off now that others are supporting her and she and Jenn became friends again.
  • Some letters from old friends appear during the time skip:
    • Jacob managed to track down Sean's PO Box, revealing that Sarah Lee has made a complete recovery from her pneumonia thanks to some antibiotics and that this time, he will try to have a good life on his own terms while raising his sister. He reveals that he is searching for Cassidy and the rest of the runaways so they can join up with the group, this time permanently until his parents come to terms with the Reverend's manipulation. If Sean gave him his money from the marijuana farm, then Jacob will have enough money to rent a place for the next three months so he can prepare for the future.
    • If Sean romanced Cassidy, she reveals that they are doing pretty well on their own and will try to remember Finn as the good person he was rather than the cause of all the issues that happened to them on their last days. She gives Sean her phone number so once they are able to reach Mexico, he can still keep in contact with her anytime he wants.
  • After Daniel comments on Arthur and Stanley's relationship, if Sean kissed Finn, he can reveal it to Daniel. After an initial shock, Daniel supports Sean coming out, saying that he wished Sean would have told him that he was into Finn sooner.
  • The Blood Brothers ending: both Sean and Daniel make it to the border and, while it is rough, they both are able to live happy lives. Sean follows Esteban's path to be a mechanic and Daniel decides to become an artist like his brother.
  • The Parting Ways ending: Sean attempts to cross the border and while Daniel reluctantly clears the way, he bails and allows himself to be captured. Although they may never see each other again, Daniel does get to have a relatively normal life with his grandparents and photos he receives show Sean in Mexico reunited with either Cassidy or Finn depending on who he romanced in Episode 3.
  • The Redemption ending: Thanks to Sean's sacrifice on turning himself in, Daniel can live a normal life with his grandparents, Sean still keeps in contact with his family and if you play your cards right, Lyla as well while in prison and even became a successful comic book artist during his prison sentence. And while it took 15 years for him to be a free man, he receives a huge welcome from Daniel, Karen, and possibly Lyla with both Sean and Lyla giving each other the biggest hug shown in the series.
  • A minor heartwarming fact is that in every ending, the Lone Wolf included, Daniel adopts his brother's drawing skills.
  • In the "Redemption" and "Parting Ways" endings, there's several photos of Daniel and Chris growing up together and remaining close even in their late teenage/early adult years.
  • After the end of the credits, this message appears from the staff:
"The whole Life is Strange 2 team wants to express its sincere and humble gratitude for your amazing support, art, gifts, passions and theories. And thanks for patience while we were crafting these episodes. Once again, we were proud to have you on board this amazing journey."
"Keep on howling."
