    Fionna Campbell
  • During the intro montage, Fionna cries over DJ Flame breaking up with her over a text. Cake swipes her cell phone away to try and make her feel less sad, though it landed in the toilet.
  • The fact that Fionna's last name is Campbell and she flips people off in the UK style implies that the Distaff Counterpart to Minerva was not separated from his daughter and got to watch her grow up.

    Simon Petrikov
  • While his help ends up more detrimental than actually helpful, it's clear that Finn means well and genuinely wants to see Simon get better. A great leap from formerly busting Simon's buns back when he was Ice King in the early seasons.
    • Despite Finn's quest not being much help, Simon is genuinely appreciative of what he's trying to do. Not to mention that he actually has some fun talking to him when they're sitting down by the campfire.
  • Among Simon's contacts are the names of Abracadaniel, BMO, and even Island Lady, all friendships that he had formed while he was still Ice King, implying that he stayed in contact with these people years after he regained his sanity.
  • While it's sad for Simon, who feels like he can't talk to anyone, Marcy and PB are going strong and having fun.
    • In the same scene, Bubblegum friendly greets Simon which comes off as a good indicator that she has grown to consider him as a good friend after initially being on hostile terms with him when he was the Ice King constantly trying to kidnap her in early seasons.

    Cake The Cat
  • Just seconds after the intro, we can see the main stars of the original series back in the action as they find a way out of the temple with the egg, who is "just out of shape.", and a callback of their Jakesuit formation.
  • The way Finn said "I love you, Jake.", not only Finn have a massive bond to his best friend, but also to the original fans as well.
  • Notice how Prismo, the watcher himself, smiling as Finn's dialogue after the fight, symbolizes the fans as they were bringing nostalgia. What a good way to pay homage to everyone from the young and the old.

    Prismo The Wishmaster
  • Episode 4 shows that despite the dire circumstances the Drift had been left in at the end of Bmo's story in Distant Lands, they did manage not only to survive but thrive in the near thirty years between stories.

    Destiny
  • Even though he’s still haunted by his memories as the Ice Finn (or as Farmworld people calls, the “Snowman”) and decides to live in the shadow outside of the civilization, the now adult Farmworld Finn manages to live a peaceful life and he even has a family of his own with five kids.
  • Jay and Little Destiny’s relationship. They know that both their parents are enemies, and yet they always look after for each other. Even Fionna and Cake loves their Forbidden Love’s dynamic.

    The Winter King
  • The whole subplot of Gary and Marshall in episode 6, which has been lovingly called by some fans as an official Coffee Shop AU (which, it kind of is). Their interactions are incredibly sweet and wholesome. If you were a shipper of them back at the time of the original series' airing, you probably Squeed a bit at it.
  • The Spinoff Babies universe Fionna, Cake and Simon end up at the end of episode 6. Every baby version of the cast (even the Lich) looks adorable.

    The Star
  • The alternate version of Martin quickly bonds with the Finn from the Spin-Off Babies universe that hitched along with Fionna, Cake, and Simon.
  • Once again, the subplot of this episode is very sweet. While Gary could have enjoyed himself at the party with all the investors that were interested in him, he realizes how much Marshall Lee was not enjoying himself, and sticks up to his mom for him in front of everybody, even if it meant that he would possibly be ostracized.
    • At the end, Gary and Marshall Lee run away from the party, and as the elevator door closes, they kiss, confirming their mutual feelings for one another, and quite possibly making them boyfriends.

    Jerry
  • Simon and Fionna bonding over the story of Simon and Betty's budding romance. It's the first time we begin to see Fionna has changed her thinking on Simon, acknowledging him as an actual person instead of a plot trinket to make her world magical again. This culminates into her not wanting to turn Simon back into the Ice King, especially after seeing through tapes what he’s going to sacrifice if he does it.
  • When seeing the Extinct World's version of BMO, Simon is pretty happy to see them, indicating he still maintains his friendship with BMO from when he was the Ice King even after he reverted back to normal.

    Casper And Nova
  • Though she's unable to properly communicate, move, or even emote, it's clear GOLBetty still cares about Simon in her own way and still wants to fulfill Betty's wish of keeping him safe.
    • When Simon goes to put on the Ice Crown after he announces to her that he intends to sacrifice his life for Fionna's world, GOLBetty forcibly ejects his consciousness from his body, preventing Simon from going through with it.
    • When the Scarab finds Simon's defenseless body and goes to kill him, GOLBetty relentlessly splits him up over and over again until the Scarab is forced to retreat through the portal in fear.
  • After returning to her world, Fionna notices Marshall and Gary holding each other’ hands in what it could possibly be their date, and she squees in excitement at the sight of it.

    Cheers
  • It's implied that Betty is at least part of the reason that Fionna and Cake's world was able to get out of Simon's head and become an official world in the multiverse, saving it from Scarab's deletion.
  • As Simon is about to put the Ice Crown to become Ice King again, he receives a phone call from Fionna, who urges Simon to not go through with the plan, as she believes that if her universe is going to be destroyed, then at least she and her friends should die as themselves, and because she doesn’t want anyone sacrificing themselves on her own account, in a way to tell him that his life as Simon Petrikov does matter. After some reservations, Simon finally throws the crown into the void.
  • While viewing his memory of stopping Betty from getting on the bus, Simon realizes he should have made an active effort to support her dreams and decides to board with her. Though Simon remembers how events really played out and stops, the two are able to finally express that, in spite of the mistakes they made, they were happy for the relationship they had and can now go their separate ways.
Betty: You were a wonderful experience.
    Simon: You were… everything.
  • Even after everything the Scarab put Prismo through, the latter's chill enough to tell Scarab to hang with him for a moment to show him how to use the Character Creator program on his laptop.
  • Everything about the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue, accompanied with the song “Blue Shift” by Kendall :3:
    • Fionna is finally enjoying her “mostly” mundane life, hanging out with her friends, finding a new hobby in the form of roller skating, and finally she’s seen planting dandelions with Hunter. Along with the crazy stuff introduced to her world, she’s learned to appreciate the good things from her ordinary life, too.
    • The fact that both Fionna and Simon are still in touch with each other by exchanging texts.
    • People of Fionna’s universe are very accepting towards the “magical” characters such as Cake.
    • Jay and Little Destiny’s date at the aquarium.
    • Gary opens a bakery truck with Marshall’s support.
    • Simon is now in a much better place, as he hangs out with his friends at the bar, explores new horizons on Ooo, and makes up with Astrid by showing her stuff from the modern world. He even goes to therapy to make sure he won’t slip back into his depressed state.
  • The final Ending Credits sequence has Fionna and Cake dreaming about Simon who’s also peacefully sleeping.
