Headscratchers / Pooh's Grand Adventure

Go To

  • Why doesn't Owl go with them? He seems to really enjoy the thrills and spirits of adventures. What is stopping him from going with? He could even be the wise mentor character for the party.
    • Well, Pooh does say towards the end of the song, "Perhaps you could join us?" and Owl says "No, no, you go ahead." and he WAS practically SHOVING Pooh and his friends out the door and saying "Now, don't come back until you find Christopher Robin!"
    • Owl is all talk. He loves the IDEA of adventure but isn't really interested in actually DOING anything for it. How many action movie fans rambling on about how awesome their favourite hero is would, realistically, want to be in the film WITH them?

  • So by the end of the story, Pooh and his friends end up realizing that there was no Skullasaurus and that they were mostly on a wild goose chase searching for Christopher Robin which was only scary because they were afraid. But if that is the case, it feels strangely convenient that they just happen to find Christopher Robin at Skull and that the places they went to just so happened to look like the places on Owl's map. Was Owl actually giving a detailed map all along? And if so, how did HE know where Christopher Robin actually was?
    • Maybe the Great Unknown is on Christopher Robin's way to school?
    • Perhaps, Christopher Robin came back after his first day of school and Kanga told him about what happened, so Christopher Robin went off to Skull via a different path.

  • When Pooh gets lifted into the air when Piglet accidentally snags him, how are the butterflies able to keep him airborne for even a few seconds? Shouldn't they collapse instantly?
    • Considering that Pooh has been lifted by balloons in the original series and that he is a stuffed animal, it's likely he didn't weigh all that much. Even still, the butterflies do end up failing to keep both Pooh and Piglet airborne, it just a while.
    • Also, what were the butterflies planning on doing with Piglet? Butterflies don't normally carry people away.

  • Earlier, Tigger falls down the gorge and a piece of the map appears to be falling down towards him. But then Eyeore nearly catches this piece with his teeth. Did it float upward again? If so, how does it then fall all the way down to the bottom of the gorge? Feels like strange contrived wind.

  • How does the map get to be so shriveled by the time the heroes find the Eye of the Skull? Just before it seemed to be relatively intact, even in two pieces?
    • Parchment paper is very prone to wear and tear. And it only appeared intact earlier because it was rolled up.

  • Could there actually be a Skullasaurus? Owl seemed to think there was and described this monster in his song sequence. Also, Skull does exist, even if it's not as impressive as it was before they found Christopher Robin. Or is Owl just crazy?

  • Even if Kanga and Roo and some of the other missing characters wouldn't have reason to be in the story, why aren't they at least mentioned?
    • The easy answer is that they had no role in the story and were cut for writing purposes. An in story reason could be that Kanga may not want Roo to be involved with a perilous adventure, even if it isn't addressed, as that would be in character for her. As for Gopher, well he's probably hibernating and on a meta note, is not in the book you know?
