  • The premise itself could make any Five Nights at Freddy's fan roll on the floor with laughter. Think any fanfic where the main character throws hands on the animatronics and replace the main character with Nicolas Cage!
  • Nicolas Cage appears to have challenged himself in this movie to somehow chew the scenery while not uttering a single line of dialogue as The Janitor. He succeeds. Some choice examples:
  • The very abrupt way Ozzie the Ostrich comes to life and says "I'M GONNA FEAST ON YOUR FACE!", attacking the Janitor causing the tone to immediately transition into that of an action scene. It's so sudden and out-of-nowhere, with the Janitor's response being so nonhesitant and accepting of the situation that it's impossible not to laugh.
  • After Liv’s friends fall through the roof and meet up with her and the Janitor, we get this.
Aaron: (watching the animatronics on stage) Wait a second… wasn't there eight of them? (Beat as he sees the trash bags containing what's left of Ozzy Ostrich and Gus Gorilla, then looks at the Janitor) ...Oh, that's badass.
  • This line after the backstory Info Dump, asking about the teens' missing compatriots:
Chris: Speaking of backwoods inbreds, where'd Bobby and Kathy go?
  • Liv's reaction to the Janitor absolutely demolishing Arty; she just stares silently with an absolute "WTF" look on her face.
  • The Janitor takes out a bag of trash, tosses it in the dumpster, and is heading back inside when he sees the Sheriff sitting in her truck watching him. He just gives her an awkward little wave and walks away, like she hadn't just held a shotgun on him and left him to die.
  • Tito Turtle gets taken down by Liv... Via Groin Attack. On an animatronic.
  • It's time to throw down with Willy. Cue the Lock-and-Load Montage... with soda cans in a burlap sack. It's treated exactly as if he were loading a conventional weapon.
  • The tagline on the poster. "2020 isn't over yet kids!"
