• When Patch suddenly pops in and out on the NYC streets, he appears next to a wino who looks worriedly at his bottle.
• B.Z.'s reaction to Patch's suggestion that they give the lollipops away for free: he practically chokes on his own words while Patch can only marvel at how quickly his face it turning as red as a beet, before bellowing, "FOR FREEEEE?!"
• Part of B.Z.'s evil plan to cash in on Christmas is to make a sequel on March 25th, entitled Christmas 2. The way he says it is what really makes it.
• Meta example from the DVD Commentary: Discussing the final shots of the film, in which B.Z. is seen floating off into space, director Jeannot Szwarc explains that it's very much a fairy tale-style ending. The moderator promptly jokes that, alternately, B.Z.'s headed to the Phantom Zone! (a reference to Supergirl (1984), which Szwarc also directed and which had the same producers, and also recorded a commentary track for with the same moderator at the same time). The director does agree with the moderator that it's certainly a bizarre ending.
