  • In the third strip, Pebble is looking for a place to live and signs say, "Must have 12 arms" and "Vaporous clouds only". Pebble thinks he/they finds a sign saying, "Small monsters", but it turns out the whole sign reads, "Small monsters need not apply."
    Pebble: "Oh, come on!"
  • Phil asks Pebble how long he's been a monster. Donald replies, "Don't say that! That's rude!".
  • From this strip:
    • One of Wren's rules is "No farting in my room".
    • Wren tells Pebble not to be too scary as all she wants is an excuse to sleep in her dads' bed or be bleary-eyed on school days.
  • Wren accidentally scares Pebble.
    Wren: "Seriously?"
  • Wren critiquing Pebble.
    Wren: "Okay look. You can't just jump up like a goof yelling 'raa'. That's so boring."
  • After Pebble reveals he eats mice, Wren makes a rule for "no eating animals".
    Pebble: "How about just the small ones?"
    Wren: "No! That's worse! The small ones are cuter!"
    Pebble: "So just the ugly ones?"
    Wren: "No! No animals at all!"
    Pebble: "Not even on Valentine's Day?"
    Wren: "Not ev— wait, what?"
    Pebble: "You know, the human tradition of giving their loved ones a rabbit that has been dipped in chocolate?"
  • Pebble tries to be scary by shape-shifting into a toilet because he's scared of toilets. His reason? "Have you seen what they eat?".
  • This strip:
    • Wren asks Pebble what he's doing (meaning why he's under her desk). He replies, "I'm talking to you." Wren says, "You can't be here." and Pebble says, "Yes I can. I'm talking to you."
    • When Wren reveals she's mad at Pebble for eating her backpack, Pebble replies that she isn't missing out because it tasted bad.
  • Pebble thinks denominators are called "demon nominators".
  • When Wren tells Pebble they can't go to space because you need a rocket, Pebble says, "So, like, an hour?".
  • Pebble comments that Wren has a lot of toes that must be "hard to keep track of", and her "claws" are so dull.
  • Pebble is scared of the idea of bones.
  • After Wren explains that the moon was never bitten but there's a piece of it in the museum, Pebble realises that if they go there, he can actually bite the moon.
  • Pebble thinks Phil's razor is full of bees.
  • Pebble is worried the popcorn will explode in his mouth.
  • Pebble wants some popcorn. Wren tells him no because he'll get crumbs on her comics, so Pebble tries to lick it up from afar.
    Wren: "No! Gross!"
  • Wren drops her apple. Pebble catches it with his foot.
    Pebble: "You can have that one."
  • It's revealed that when they were kids, Donald and Violet tried to bake cookies in the night and woke their parents up with the smoke alarm.
  • Pebble sneezes so hard he stretches out and knocks Wren's cereal over.
  • Pebble and Wren are playing astronaut and Phil, who is reading, half-heartedly pretends to be an alien. Wren asks if they've encountered the alien horde, and Pebble says, "I think we have discovered the alien bored".
  • Pebble thinks the toilet is literally running.
  • Wren brings up a "does a falling tree that no one hears make a sound?" question. Pebble points out that sound is its own thing, and there are trees around. When Wren says trees "don't count", Pebble takes this to mean they can't do math.
  • Pebble and Wren have fun lucid dreaming, ending in Pebble encouraging Wren to eat the recycling.
  • Pebble making himself taller when Wren measures him.
  • Pebble thinks "tear here to open" means "cry on it".
  • Pebble wants Wren to help him pretend to eat a cloud.
  • Pebble calls a little cucumber a "cute-cumber".
  • Pebble counts the forks as "onek, twok, threek, fourk".
  • Pebble uses his tongue to stir pancake batter.
  • Pebble describes lemons as "biting back."
  • When Pebble spills crumbs on his eyes, he makes a joke.
    Pebble: "Eye have made a mistake."
  • In the skee-ball arc, Pebble thinks the tickets are its tongue.
