• From We ♥ Katamari onwards, the player can bypass the King's level-specific speech by rolling. He takes being ignored about as well as you'd expect.
  • His game-over lines are half Nightmare Fuel and depressing, and half hilarious with how over the top he is just to say how badly you messed up and displeased the fans. The best has to be his speech after failing the water level. Even in his game-over speech, even as he still fires lasers at you half of his words are just him STILL saying “glug” while trying to talk underwater. Nightmare Retardant, much?
• The King's attempts to describe human behavior to the Prince can get rather... colourful:
  • Handcuffs: Saved for when someone has been very, very bad. ...Or very, very good.
  • Geek Boy: "He's trying to work out a way to fart without making a sound."
  • Dr. Katamari: "The friendless creator of Katamari Damacy."
• In the first game's Make a Star 7 level the first thing you see is several bunches of bananas. Getting them will trigger the King saying "BA" "NA" "NA".
• In Make Gemini, the player can roll up triplets, quadruplets, and quintuplets, none of which earn any points and instead cause the King to comment on them.
• In Make Virgo, if you wait at the start of the level as the King speaks, a girl walking towards you will push you down the stairs, and you will collect an audible bell just before your momentum stops.
• Whenever the King is rolled up himself, he explains: "It's so beautiful! Waaaaaoooo!"
