Santa Hunters was a 2014 Made-for-TV Movie by Nickelodeon. A group of cousins (two sets of brother and sister pairs) are determined to prove the existence of Santa Claus on film during a family Christmas gathering Their attempts are successful, but they realize that their attempts hamper Santa's job and have to fix things before Christmas is ruined for everyone in the world.

This Movie Provides Examples Of:

  • Bag of Holding: Santa's sack.
  • Brain Bleach: Santa's description of a Noodle Incident of a previous Christmas when one of the reindeer came back with the runs.
    • While hiding in the shower in order not to be seen by her grandfather, Zoey was forced to hear him stink up the bathroom,
  • Chekhov's Gift: The Santa pipe given to Alex by his Uncle Charlie is vital in the climax.
    • Elizabeth's mace, also given to her by Uncle Charlie, comes in handy at the end as well.
  • Circling Birdies: A variation happens when Natasha bumps into a large candy cane decoration. AS she's on the ground, she talks of seeing the prancing ponies.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Santa's sled, sans reindeer, only flew because the children believed it would do so. This was after things started to disappear as described in Gone Horribly Right below. Even gets invoked by Zoey.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Santa comes off as this.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: Apart from the first scenes with Alex and Elizabeth at their school, the movie takes place on Christmas Eve day overnight into Christmas morning.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: Alex and his younger sister Elizabeth along with their cousins Zoey and her brother Richard.
  • The Grinch: Natasha hates Christmas because she didn't get the right doll from Santa when she was a girl.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Santa's magic slowly weakens the more people see him. The cousins not only see him, but catch him on video and things start going bad for Santa and the cousins after that.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: At the end, Alex tells the camera that it is time to put the cameras away. The scene changes.
  • More Hero than Thou: Averted. When deciding who will rescue Alex in Santa's sack, Zoey volunteers. After Richard looks down into the incredibly deep sack, he agrees to let Zoey go.
  • Santa Claus: Well obviously.
  • Saving Christmas: The kids have to do this after nearly ruining Christmas by trying to catch Santa.
  • Shout-Out: Upon meeting Natasha, Zoey mentions that she needs to be visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
  • Sniff Sniff Nom: At the beginning, Alex and Elizabeth see a brown pile in the snow in front of their school. Elizabeth posits it could be reindeer poop, but Alex tests it and determines it is frozen yogurt.
  • Super-Speed: Santa has this as he was just a blur on the videos.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: After Zoey experienced the bathroom disaster described in Brain Bleach above, this is how she reacted, along with repeating the Madness Mantra "It stinks."
