Okay, imagine a bunch of characters that look like those from Battle for Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity, but they have one difference in design. That's basically what you get characters-wise in this fanfic.

The Inanimate Misadventures is an unmade object show that was originally created by Conner Dean (or GlazeSugarNavalBlock), who also did Struggle for Dream Island and Sinful back in 2015, and it eventually got rebooted. Karlie Haydon (who is RRB-Official on DeviantArt) took the run until 2020, with the last episode title card for the series being "Carnival Craze"' Recently, Karlie is making plans to reboot the series again, adding two new main characters as well as adding characters from Brawl of the Objects, Object Lockdown and Lockout, Object Overload, Animated Inanimate Battle, and Mysterious Object Super Show. The show was originally promoting the Crack Pairings of Paintbrush and Match and Gelatin and Marshmallow due to the fact that Conner used to support these ships before branching off from it.

Depending on the version, the "show" may be a bit different. The first two incarnations star Paige, a non-binary^note Ambiguous Gender in the original version, female in the original reboot paintbrush, while the second reboot will be starring Oracle, a pre-teen drawing demigod. Also involved in the plot are their friends: Penn the ballpoint pen, Madison the match, Blake the block, Ethan the eraser, Scott the snowball, Dean the cherry-filled donut, and Frank the box of fries. The new reboot will also feature Pandora the paint palette. It's a fan-made, stand-alone spin-off of BFDI and II, and the show takes place in Yoyle City. Unlike the two shows, it's not a competition, but rather a Slice of Life.

Each episode features Paige/Oracle and their/his friends doing things like singing in a talent contest, having snowball fights, and playing games at a carnival. Expect a ton of hijinks to ensue.

The tropes in this "show" include...

• Adaptational Gender Identity: Paige went from Ambiguous Gender in the original series to female in the first reboot. The second reboot then makes them non-binary.
• Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: The original series has Paige and Madison be lovers, as Connor shipped Match and Paintbrush at the time. The reboots, however, have them as friends.
• Aerith and Bob: Since there is over 310 characters as of the new reboot, this is inevitable. You have the more normal names, Scott, Bonnie, Cyrus, Simon, Eli, Felix, Kyra...and then there are these names. You know, Borka, Guyapi, Lache, Pilar, Tier, it goes on.
• Anyone Can Die: Well, almost anyone, as the only one who can't die is Oracle due to Nigh-Invulnerability. Death is made cheap through the means of a hand-powered recovery center.
• April Fools' Plot: "Prank Wars" is set on April Fools' Day.
• Cast of Expies: Where to begin? Just about every character is based on the characters in Battle for Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity. In the case of the BFDI characters, it's only the characters from the first two seasons for the first two incarnations, as none of the exclusive characters from Battle for BFB or The Power of Two had The Inanimate Misadventures counterparts. None of the host characters^note The Announcer, Four, X, Two, and MePhone4 to name a few got counterparts either.
  • Alongside contestants from Battle for BFB and The Power of Two as well as Four, Two, X, and MePhone4 the new reboot will feature Expies of characters from several other different shows: Brawl of the Objects, Object Overload, Object Lockdown, Animated Inanimate Battle, Object Lockout, and Mysterious Object Super Show.
