- "Month One: Just Like Old Times" teaches that when you're pregnant, you shouldn't risk your unborn child's safety just to feed your adrenaline rush.
- "Month Two: Brother Knows Best" teaches that while you should keep whoever you love safe when they are in a very vulnerable position, you shouldn't do it excessively to the point where you end up frustrating them. Pregnant people getting stressed out can't be good for their unborn children.
- "Month Three: Blazing Tempers" teaches that romance shouldn't be deteriorated just because of an argument.
- Anger Born of Worry: In the eighth chapter, Mist gets upset at Blue for being out all night when he was drinking with Vinny Napoleon.
- Big Brother Instinct: Deconstructed. Shine tells Blue that now that Mist is pregnant, he must keep a careful watch on her. This led to Blue constantly coddling Mist during a night together, which causes Mist much discomfort and when Blue tells her of Shine's involvement, Mist reacts predictably annoyed at Shine's overly worrying.
- Character Development: In the ninth chapter, Gothel becomes less overprotective of his daughter and also becomes alright with Luxury dating her.
- Cool Big Sis: Mist ended up being this to Globe, Huckleberry and Eclipse in the final chapter when they come to visit Canterlot Castle.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Piggy-backing on the Anger Born of Worry exampel from above, Mist acts like a nagging wife reading her alcoholic husband the riot act.
- Hormone-Addled Teenager: Somewhat downplayed as Constel isn't a teenager like she ways in the earlier stories, yet the beginning of the eighth chapter shows that she is extremely horny when she and Luxury go out to a night club.
- Kids Are Cruel: Blue once mentions in the eighth chapter that foals who befriended him only wanted to because he was the son of Wonderbolts.
- Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: Or "Plot Mandated Romance Failure" as Mist and Blue have a spat in the fourth chapter, but end up reconciling in the end.
- Pregnancy Makes You Crazy: Shown in "Month One: Just Like Old Times"; Spitfire was already a Drill Sergeant Nasty, but her pregnancy in the flashback of said chapter takes this trope up to eleven.
- For some reason, Mist averts this. She does not suffer from mood swings nor gets very emotional. It's likely her weak immunse system has frozen her hormones.
- Shout-Out: Mist's birth scene in the final chapter is based on the one in the Family Guy episode "Emission Impossible".
- Teen Pregnancy: The fanfic is all about Mist, who is almost out of her teens, getting pregnant.
