Running From Trouble
is a Ed, Edd n Eddy fanfic by AnonBrowser.
It’s only fair to get the other guy’s side of the story. So Eddy decides to tell the story of the biggest screwup of his scam artist life, his flight from the cul-de-sac with his friends, and the emotional journey that changed his life forever.
’’Running From Trouble’’ contains the following example:
- Adaptational Expansion: Some context is provided for the scam that failed so badly it sent the Eds running for the hills: Eddy had the idea of setting up a massive theme park that went horribly pear-shaped due to bad planning and impulsivity on Eddy’s part.
- Adaptational Name Change:
- Downplayed, but Ed’s nickname for Eddy, Eddy McGee, is Eddy’s actual birthname. Ed is given the last name “Temby”, Double D is given the last name Wendell.
- Jonny’s last name is Jordan, Rolf’s last name is Diedrich, Kevin’s is Melville, and Jimmy’s last name is Alberts.
- Fatal Flaw: Eddy’s flaw is impulsivity: in his need to make more money, he ignored Double D’s warning not to activate a cement machine before it cooled, causing enormous harm to the kids of the cul-de-sac.
- Nobody Touches the Hair: Nazz’s grudge against the Eds was that the damage to the cement machine made her lose her hair.
- Perspective Flip: The fic explores the events of the Big Picture Show from Eddy’s perspective.
- Visionary Villain: More like a “con artist” than a villain, but Eddy had dreams of a great amusement park that ultimately didn’t pan out too well.
