Go To

2 centuries ago, pandemonium exploded all over the earth. It was an age of chaos and uncertainties. It was when Quirks appeared for the first time, Quirks misterious mutations that caused humanity to develop superpowers.

My Hero World is a My Hero Academia, Fic Rewrite by Kulev intended to have a different progression of the story's pace, characterizations, and world building. It is intended to be broken into different phases for each arc.

The fic, along with all of Kulev's other fics, would be discontinued in August of 2023, with contradictory statements of the fic being dead and undergoing a rewrite. Other details in the note left by Kulev are best left unsaid.

Contains examples of...

  • Accusation Fic: A good portion of the changes to canon found in the fic came about as a result of the author being dissatisfied by the way certain characters and plot points were handled, either due to feeling certain characters were given free passes they don't deserve, plot points weren't fully explored, or simply disagreeing with how things are handled due to adhering to Japanese values. As a result, it makes the fic read like the author is using the fic to call out that aspects, in particular Bakugo, Endeavor, and Aizawa.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Numerous characters and concepts have cameos or are mentioned long before their appearance in canon. Star & Stripe, Lady Nagant, MLA, All For One, etc.
  • Adaptational Badass: Izuku uses One For All's Danger Sense immediately and gains control over Full Cowling to take out numerous bots in the exam. After having had the quirk for one day.
  • Adaptational Expansion: The UA Exam has a written portion that is explored and the practical is also given more focus.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Izuku's smarts are on full display from being able to deduce the hidden parts of OFA's nature to figuring out how to use Full Cowling the day of the Entrance Exam. His test was impressive enough for Nezu to take an interest in him.
  • Creator's Culture Carryover: Invoked. As many of Kulev's issues with the series are intrisically tied to Japanese values, they are ignoring said values in favor of using more Western values despite the setting still being in Japan.
  • Deliberate Values Dissonance: A meta example. Kulev openly admits in the description of the fic how they disapprove of how Izuku's background is handled before immediately declaring it to be due to Japanese values and how "messed up" they are, and that part of their changes will involve treating things different from how Japan does... despite still being in Japan.
Kulev: I also dislike how Izuku is handled as well. But in a sense it just shows how messed up japanese society can be. I mean if Izuku were to have been on another country he would have been on a really different situation... Wich mainly involves various therapist several arrest and an entire school closed.
  • Fantastic Racism: The plight of being quirkless is being given greater focus. Especially with how Izuku has no friends.
  • Fix Fic: Invoked by the author, who was dissatisfied with several aspects of canon and wrote the fic to address these problems. In practice however, it reads more like an Accusation Fic.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Yuga Aoyama triggers Izuku's Danger Sense. He's an unwilling spy for All For One and causes a Zero Pointer to rampage without restrictions.
    • Izuku's father is mentioned. All Might gets a distinct feeling of wariness from OFA and the scene cuts to AFO.
  • For Want Of A Nail:
    • All Might decides to become a UA teacher as Toshinori Yagi instead of spending it all in his Hero Form.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Izuku still ends up tripping and being helped by Ochako, compares himself to a food while using OFA, and breaks his arm and leg punching out the Zero Pointer.
  • Interrupted Suicide: After All Might tells him he can't be a hero, Izuku initially tries to go through with it while thoughts encouraging it play in his head. He's only stopped by the explosions caused by Katsuki's quirk while the Sludge Villain is rampaging.
  • Irony: Aizawa believes Bakugo and Izuku are BOTH arrogant problem children.
