Go To

Braigen's DCU (Now With Owls) is a crossover series between The Owl House and The DCU, with heroes like Superman and Batman emerging after Luz's own adventures, and Luz and the Hexsquad end up becoming vigilantes as well.

  • Amazon Chaser: Luz gives a Sigh of Love while watching Amity wipe the floor with some of Scarecrow's Mooks.
  • Coming-Out Story: Renee comes out to the Nocedas after she's let in about all their secrets.
  • Crossover Relatives: In this universe, Renee Montoya is Luz's second cousin.
  • Experienced Protagonist: While Luz and company may be just starting out at the vigilante game by the first couple of stories, they've still had plenty of experience at using magic and combat, allowing Luz, Hunter, and Vee to put up a good fight against Metallo to save Superman on their first serious outing.
  • Fusion Fic: The story fuses the world of the Owl House with the DCU.
  • Happily Married: Luz and Amity, Vee and Masha, and Hunter and Willow are all married by this point and completely in love.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: During one fight, Scudder drags Luz into the Mirror Realm in an attempt to overwhelm her. Unfortunately for him, it turns out that the Mirror Realm is the surface level of the In Between, and being there allows Luz to tap into the echo of the Titan's power and briefly retake her own Titan form, proceeding to wipe the floor with Scudder.
  • One-Steve Limit: Gus and Sam Scudder both claim the title of "Mirror Master", much to the latter's ire.
  • Precision F-Strike: Luz's reaction after her first meeting with Batman ends with him revealing he just used her to confirm his suspicions about Superman's secret identity.
Luz: Well, fuck you too, Batman!
  • Recursive Fanfiction: Family Ties by Parchment Scroll is an episodic fan continuation of this setting.
  • Secret Identity: All members of the Hexsquad who are now vigilantes use these — Luz is Good Witch, Amity is Abomination, Hunter is Cardinal, Vee is Snakeshifter, Willow is Mulcher, and Gus is Mirror Master.
  • Secret-Keeper: The Hexsquad are this for Clark's identity as Superman and vice versa. Later, Renee and Batman both deduce the squad's identities as well.
  • Seen It All: Luz is able to defeat Scarecrow despite having been exposed to his fear toxin because she's faced Grom three times by this point, so she's used to seeing her worst fears by now.
  • Spotting the Thread: Renee is easily able to identify Good Witch as Luz, due to recognizing her voice, that her costume is basically Azura cosplay, and the heroine showed up in Gotham just days after Luz did.
  • Superman Stays Out of Gotham: Discussed, when Batman states that while he can't stop Luz from coming to Gotham to visit family, he demands that she restrict herself from superhero activities, as he doesn't need the help. Luz responds by shooting him down, stating that she won't stop herself from fighting crime if she's in a position to help, something Batman reluctantly relents to.
  • There Are No Therapists: Averted — Luz has apparently been regularly seeing a therapist ever since the end of canon to deal with the immense amount of trauma she went through on the Boiling Isles, and when the fight with Metallo triggers a flashback to her Final Battle with Belos, she makes a point of moving up her next appointment.
  • You Remind Me of X: Luz notes that Metallo, who is ranting about killing Superman for not being human while barely having humanity left himself, gives her serious Belos vibes.
