- Big Damn Kiss: In a desperate attempt to break Izuku out of Siren's control, Ochaco ran towards the boy and kissed him on his lips. It worked.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Any boy under Siren's control will have red eyes and behave aggressively like a feral animal.
- Call-Back: The fic brings back many events:
- When trying to figure what kind of Quirk the villain possesses to control the victims, Izuku assumes it to be a mind control Quirk, which reminded of his match with Shinso back at the Sports Festival.
- Ochaco remembers the time Izuku saved her from the Zero-Pointer back at the U.A. entrance exam.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Kai's life has never been easy for him due to his tentacle Quirk. Due to their appearance, he was often ridiculed for it. They also have a tendency to act on their own if he ever wasn't paying attention. This, unfortunately, caused things to take a turn for the worst when one of them touched a girl inappropriately which caused the girls to bully him even more and spread rumours about him. These rumours followed Kai all the way to High-School so none of the students would ever associate with him. Kai even tried to kill himself to end his misery, but even that was also something his Quirk wouldn't allow.
- Easily Forgiven: Averted with Ojiro. When the boys who were brainwashed asked about the girls condition, Ojiro asked in a cold tone if they shouldn't know about it.
- The Empath: Detective Loid's Quirk allows him to sense the emotions of others. Loid uses this Quirk during police interrogations.
- Everyone Has Standards: Kaminari may be a bit of a pervert, but he was disgusted with Mineta's idea of trying to get topless pictures of the girls. He's also furious when he finds out Mineta's "prank" angered the girls enough to try and stomp him into the ground.
- Guilt-Tripping: In order to get the 1-A boys to go through with a karaoke performance, the 1-A girls dramatically moan about their injuries in an attempt to emotionally blackmail them. It works and the boys resign themselves into giving the live performance the girls wanted.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Todoroki turns out to be one. This ends up saving him from falling under Siren's control.
- "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: While Ochaco fights Deku, the heroine repeatedly tries to talk some sense into him rather than hurt him.
- Moment Killer: Just when Kaminari and Jiro were sharing a tender moment, a tentacle from the sea sprang out and grabbed Jiro's ankle, dragging her into the water.
- More than Mind Control: Momo deduces that Siren's Quirk isn't your typical mind control Quirk. She basically can manipulate the amount of testosterone secreted into a boy's brain with her voice. This process causes them to fall under her control and act feral while also having symptoms such as headaches.
- My God, What Have I Done?: All the boys who fell under Siren's control deeply regret how they hurt the girls.
- Non-Action Big Bad: Aside from kidnapping and controlling boys, Siren doesn't do partake in any fighting, letting Kai do all the heavy lifting.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Both Mina and Toru are usually the most cheerful and bubbly girls in Class A. But when they are mad, you know shit's about to get real.
- Shipper on Deck: Both Mina and Toru encourage Momo to get together with Shoto.
- Ship Tease: The fic is full of this; including IzuOcha, KamiJiro, TodoMomo, and KiriMina.
- Shout-Out: According to
Word of God, Detective Loid is based on Loid Forger from Spy X Family. - Time Skip: This fic takes place during Class 1-A's second year.
- Tranquil Fury: Mina threw some acid on the side of Siren's face which caused the villain to shriek in agony. Mina's response to the painful screams was simply a cold tone of contained anger saying that it will only leave a scar.
- Toru delivers a "Reason You Suck" Speech to Siren in this state before knocking the villain out.
- What Is This Feeling?: Kyoka starts to wonder why she is becoming flustered whenever she's alone with Kaminari.
