Angels Egg is a story written by Aconstantstateofbladerunner wherein All Might finds and takes in the titular egg. Along the way, a light is shone on the true philosophy of life in a world of Quirks and the heroes that use them.

Angel's Egg contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Izuku goes from an average kid with no superpowers to the adopted son of the Fairest Hero in the Land with bird wings for a Quirk. He's also known as Izuku Yagi.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Both Muscular and a teenage Tomura appear in All For One's base in Chapter 5.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul:
    • In the canon-verse, Toshinori was Izuku's master as he took the young boy under his wing to become his successor. In this reality, he's his adopted father and took part in raising Izuku since he was an egg.
    • Iida Tenya met and Izuku when they enrolled at Yuuei. For the story, they met in their elementary years and Tenya becomes Izuku's first best friend.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Instead of being Quirkless, Izuku develops a set of wings.
  • Adapted Out: Inko isn't present in the story nor is it confirmed if she's still Izuku's biological mother.
  • Adoption Angst: While Izuku is grateful to have All Might and Gran as his father and grandpa, he can't help but feel insecure about not being Toshinori's biological son nor having a bloodline of family members like his friend Tenya. He even experiences an emotional breakdown after All Might reveals that he was adopted.
  • An Arm and a Leg: All Might loses his whole left arm after fighting All For One.
  • Assassination Attempt: Kurogiri tries to attack All Might while he's recovering in the hospital but is immediately apprehended before he can do anything.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Chapter 8, being the last chapter since 2021, features an ending that's heavily bitter with only a dash of sweetness. Izuku is scorned by the world around him for being instrumental in All Might's retirement which has made the battle between heroes and villains so much harder for the former. His grandfather and Uncle Nighteye have cut ties with him after his father decided to transfer One For All onto him. Despite it all, he has his father's infinite love as Toshinori vows to support him on his road to becoming a true hero.
  • Book Ends: The last scene of Chapter 8 (it's current Chapter) involves Toshinori embracing his son in a hug who remembers the first time he held Izuku when he was born.
  • Breaking the Fellowship:
    • Izuku secludes himself from Tenya when they get to middle school after his father's retirement.
    • Both Gran and Nighteye end up leaving their family after Toshinori decides to pass One For All to his son. Gran Torino is aware of the heavy burden that is tied to such power and won't bear to see his grandson be battered along the way just like the others. And Nighteye cannot accept Izuku as his current self isn't suited for maintaining peace in the world like his father. This leads to All Might banishing his former friend from ever seeing them.
  • Brutal Honesty: After Izuku's birth, Gran Torino has a serious talk about All Might with his decision on becoming an official father and how he'll balance that along with his role as a Symbol of Peace. He even brings up how Nana couldn't balance the two roles which led to her abandoning her son for The Needs of the Many.
  • Bullying the Disabled: Izuku's peers torment him because of his inability to fly.
  • Cuteness Proximity: All Might's reaction to Izuku's hatching is sheer awe and he wonders if new parents feel the same way. When a foot first pokes out of the egg, All Might cannot resist giving it a playful poke.
  • Darwinist Desire: Twice in the story, All Might receives offers of a Quirk marriage from heroes wanting to blend his quirk with theirs. Endeavor, who actually has one in canon, call him a fool for turning both down.
  • Door Step Baby: A major premise of the fic. All Might finds the egg on his agency's doorstep this way and it's noted to be common for babies to be left like that. All Might notes many children have been left at his door like that, but the egg is the first he has found personally.
  • Doting Parent: Toshinori becomes this to Izuku. While he's still busy with his hero job, he showers his boy with pure love and does everything in his power to support him.
  • Dramatic Irony: As Gran Torino notes, many people want All Might to father a child to pass on his quirk. None are aware that his quirk can't be passed on through conception.
  • Entitled Citizens: Some people honestly believe it is All Might's moral duty to reproduce and pass on his quirk. Some also believe taking care of the egg is distracting him from finding a real family. All Might is subdued, but obviously quite upset about this.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Endeavor. He calls All Might a fool for turning down two Quirk marriage proposals and says his taking care of the egg makes all heroes look bad.
  • Faux Affably Evil: All For One displays this personality to Izuku upon their first meeting and how he knows his father.
  • First Friend: Tenya Iida is Izuku's first friend.
  • Flight: Trip, the flying hero has this as her quirk. She propositions All Might with the idea of a child with his quirk and flight.
  • Glamorous Single Mother: Gender-inverted with Toshinori. He has no interest in pursuing a spouse and enjoys raising Izuku. Though he does rely on Gran Torino to watch over the boy when hero duty calls.
  • Handicapped Badass: Deconstructed with All Might. After his fight with All For One, he loses several organs along with his left arm. While he does manage to continue his duty in fighting evil, he has a much harder time because of his disabilities and it's putting a heavier strain on him then before. This ultimately leads to him deciding to retire much earlier than in canon.
  • Hated by All: Izuku has received an unfortunate negative reaction after he's revealed to be All Might's adopted son. Many critics accuse him of hindering the Number One Hero from being completely dedicated to saving the day like in the past mixed with him getting in the way for All Might to have a true family. It also doesn't help that he can't fly with his wings making him come off as a useless hindrance. It gets worse after his kidnapping followed by All Might having to retire years later due to his showdown with All For One leaving him in a critical condition. He's even been compared to the antichrist for taking part in the end of their world.
  • Healing Factor: The Dog Clan has one that allows them to heal deep wounds in days and may make them immune to most diseases.
  • Homeschooled Kids: Toshinori decides to have Izuku homeschooled after learning of the ongoing bullying he endured at public school. Though they decide to use this as an opportunity to help him train with using One For All.
  • Honorary Grandpa: Gran Torino ends up becoming Izuku's grandfather. And Sir Nighteye, being another trusted adult that Izuku can depend on, is regarded as his uncle.
  • In-Series Nickname: One of Izuku's new names is "All Might's Angel" and "Omelet" by Gran.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Izuku is still a victim of bullying despite his new Quirk and family background.
    • All Might still faces off against All For One and obtains his critical injuries. Only this time, he loses his left arm and he eventually retires in three years.
    • Izuku inherits One For All and applies for Yuuei.
    • Gran Torino and Sir Nighteye seperate from All Might albeit for different reasons. Sir Nighteye even recruits Mirio to groom him as a potential replacement for All Might.
  • It's All My Fault: Izuku holds himself responsible for his father's tragic injuries. It gets worse three years later when he decides to officially retire because of his crippled state.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Gran Torino becomes this. Despite his grumpy attitude and cynical beliefs, he's willing to stick with All Might and help him and his little omelet however he can. This is best shown where after his Brutal Honesty talk with All Might, the new father learns that he already installed Izuku's crib.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Izuku is the target of bullies because of his feathers. Not that the adults are generally better.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero:
    • Gran points out that All Might announcing to the world that Izuku is his son painted a target on their backs and it'll only be a matter of time before a villain tries to hurt him through his boy.
    • Izuku lies to Tenya about being picked up so he can be alone for awhile. This tragically results in him being kidnapped by a trio of human traffickers.
  • Not Helping Your Case: Tenya tries to defend his friend from bullying by bringing up scientific bird facts and how he'll grow as a result. All this does is make fodder for the bullies to torment little Izuku.
  • Original Character: "The Boogeyman" is a pterodactyl themed villain who's involved in human trafficking.
  • Papa Wolf: The Number One Dad will not hesitate to hurt or antagonize anyone who tries to harm his boy. From All For One for daring to kidnap him to his public middle school for refusing to help Izuku with his bully problem.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: The boss of the traffickers is furious that his stooges decided to kidnap Izuku, the son of the World's Greatest Hero, meaning that every hero and villain would be after them just to get the kid.
  • Rite of Passage: It's been joked about that a hero being left a Door Step Baby at their agency is a sign that they've earned the complete trust of their community.
  • Roaring Rampage of Rescue: All Might and Gran Torino waste no time in breaking into All For One's base to rescue their beloved Izuku.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Izuku lied to his best friend so he can be alone on his own. This would unfortunately lead to him being kidnapped by human traffickers who would then draw the attention of All For One who would then get into a brutal fight with his father which would force the Number One Hero to obtain serious injuries and retire from his duty which would then put all of hero society in a tizzy over their lack of a Pillar of Peace.
  • Verbal Tic: Tenya is as pedantic as his canon teenage self - barring the distances caused by his age, of course.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: All For One admits that he began to brainstorm a variety of vengeance schemes the moment All Might revealed his son to the world.
  • Villainous Rescue: All For One crashes the trafficker's ball by killing the hosts and stealing Izuku for himself.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Tenko Shimura was last seen recovering in a hospital after his master was defeated. But there's no word on what became of him after his discharge.
  • Winged Humanoid: Not surprising given the title. When Izuku hatches he has little baby wings.
