The Teen Titans Saga is a series of Teen Titans (2003) continuation fics by Master Ghandalf set in a single continuity following the events of Season Five. The stories do not count the Teen Titans Go! comic as canon, as the writer has never been able to read them. The fics are intended as thematic continuations of several character's arcs, and are an attempt to capture the Original Flavor. They might be seen to comprise a "virtual" season.

The series consists of:

  • The Abyss Gazes Also: Brother Blood has escaped from prison and is determined to have his revenge on the Titans, but when he attempts to Mind Control Raven, even he may not be prepared for what he unleashes.

  • The Art of War: General Immortus plots world domination, the Titans try and stop him, Slade plots against them both, and who knows what Red X wants. It will take all of Robin's skills to keep the team together and unravel what the villains are really after.

  • Child of the Stars: Blackfire returns to Earth, and this time she's brought friends. Her goal? To find an alien artifact and claim its power for herself, but she may wind up getting more than she bargained for.

  • Luck of the Draw: Jinx has certainly been trying her hardest to redeem herself, but a criminal past is hard to escape, especially when the ultimate masterminds behind the HIVE Academy take a renewed interest in their prodigal student.

  • Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter: During a battle with Mumbo, the Titans somehow become trapped in Trigon's realm, drawn there by a mysterious sorcerer who requires Raven to fulfill his plans.

  • Sins of the Father: All of Slade's work is nearing completion, and world domination may be in his grasp. The Titans have to stop him, while trying to unravel the mystery of a girl who has her own agenda and hides her secrets behind a familiar mask.

  • Shadow of the HIVE: The HIVE's new Master is hard at working building a new criminal empire, and he's recruited the HIVE Five and Madam Rouge as his enforcers. The core Titans must team up with Jinx and Kid Flash to stop him- but are they playing right into his hands? In progress.

The series contains examples of:

  • And I Must Scream: Veneficus is ultimately trapped in the void between dimensions with no means of escape. And since demons appear to be immortal barring being killed by someone else...
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: The commander who arrests the Titans refuses to believe that Immortus is real, despite talking to a cyborg, an alien, and a green-skinned kid who can shapeshift into any animal in existence.
  • Ascended Extra: Immortus did practically nothing on the show; here he gets to be Big Bad for a while. The author says this is directly in response to the fact that the show wasted him as a character.
  • Day in the Limelight: Each fic focuses on a different Titan, supporting character, and/or Rogues Gallery member.
  • Dead Fic: Shadow of the HIVE has not updated since 2011.
  • Demon Lords And Arch Devils: Veneficus, who is Trigon's son as well as a powerful magic user. Trigon himself is mentioned in Abyss and has a cameo in Abandon Hope — he's still alive after what Raven did to him in canon, if only barely, and is still recovering.
  • The Dragon: Lieutenant General Smithson for Immortus; Fireblade for Blackfire; the First Director for the HIVE Mistress; and Sharpshot for Slade
    • And the end of Abandon Hope reveals that Madame Rouge is now the Dragon for the HIVE Master.
  • Frame-Up: Part of Immortus' plan involves framing the Titans for stealing a vital component from a military installation.
  • Grand Finale: Shadow of the HIVE is the last fic in the series for the foreseeable future, and is intended to go out with a bang.
  • God Is Evil: Played with. Whilst X'hal can be best described as 'a mentally unstable Eldritch Abomination', Starfire points out that she was a noble soul during her days as a mortal, and if nothing else, there are good lessons to take from her tale.
  • Heel–Face Turn:
  • It's revealed in The Art of War that Chang went semi-legit and has been making weapons exclusively for the US Army.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: When Slade finally starts up his master plan in Sins, he stops playing around with the Titans and decides to simply kill them all.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Veneficus is Raven's half-brother — Trigon is his father, his mother was a random demon. Also, Ravager is Slade's daughter — inverted in that she knows, and he doesn't.
  • Start of Darkness: Sins of the Father provides one for Slade, loosely adapted from the comic version's backstory.
    • The Art of War gives one for General Immortus.
  • Story Arc: While the individual fics were intended to stand alone, there are two overall plots that run through them- the Slade plot (found in The Abyss Gazes Also, The Art of War, Child of the Stars, and Sins of the Father) and the HIVE plot (found in Luck of the Draw, Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter, and Shadow of the HIVE).
  • Super-Power Meltdown:
    • Jinx suffers from this across Luck of the Draw. Turns out its largely a natural consequence of her powers getting stronger as she gets older, and she regains complete control by the end of the fic.
    • Veneficus inflicts a combination of this, Body Horror, and Forced Transformation on the Titans (sans Raven) in Abandon All Hope. Starfire's skin flakes off as she turns into a Tamaranean-shaped starbolt. Cyborg's cybernetics begin to grow over his organic components, becoming Darker and Edgier over time. Beast Boy slowly loses more and more control over his shapeshifting, to the point where he's constantly melting and reforming into different animals every couple of seconds.
  • Tailor-Made Prison: Brother Blood is in one at the beginning of ''Abyss', designed largely to keep him from coming into contact with people he could use his Mind Control on. Thanks to a particularly stupid newbie guard, it doesn't work out...
