The Eric Project is a True Blood fanfic that tells Eric Northman's adventures to get Sookie into his pants, overcome Bill and being awesome in general. Written entirely from Eric's Point of View and in first person, the fic is an Affectionate Parody that uses almost the entirety of the show's canon.
Tropes
- Adaptation Expansion: The fic covers many scenes we didn't see on season 1 and 2 (mostly from Eric's perspective, obviously), and speculates with some of season 3.
- An Offer You Can't Refuse: Eric does this with several vamps through the story, including Godric, Lorena and Bill.
- The Caligula: Sophie-Anne becomes this by the end of the fic, when she finds out Eric was planning to kill her beloved William.
- Don't Say Such Stupid Things!: Eric tries to convince Godric not to kill himself.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Eric would never touch children or teenagers.
- Even the Guys Want Him: Eric likes the attention he gets from both genders, however, he will flatly deny to be gay or bisexual.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Subverted with Godric. It was all a lie, kids
- Fur Against Fang: Eric and Alcide are the exception to this (mostly because Alcide reminds Eric of himself), but there's still an epic werewolves vs. Eric battle by the end of the fic.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners: Bffs Eric and Godric, and surprisingly, Eric and Alcide, just because I can.
- Intimate Psychotherapy: Played for Laughs when Eric comforts Sookie after Bill's kidnapping
- I Should Write a Book About This: The Eric Project is the book Eric writes after his Sookie Experience.
- Lovable Sex Maniac: Eric's lust for Sookie gets really funny when you read it from Eric's Point of View.
- Love Dodecahedron: Bill, Eric and Alide end up fighting for Sookie, Debbie and Laura go crazy with jealousy, and hilarity ensues.
- Love Triangle: Bill/Sookie/Eric.
- Manipulative Bastard: Eric lies about Godric and cries just to gain Sookie's sympathy and love
- Point of View: First-person Eric.
- Slash Fic: Parodied when Eric and Godric pretend to be all-time lovers just so Sookie would see Eric as a woobie. Eric actually uses real yaoi lines and plots to scheme his plan.
- Special Guest: Alexander Skarsgard, who contacts Eric to ask him if he can play his life on a tv series, and Motley Crue, who offer a concert at Fangtasia. They also play a small but significant role in the V subplot.
- Take That!: On chapter 5, Eric pwns Lady Gaga by suggesting that her voice sounds like burping. There are also various references to The Twilight Saga and teenage vampire romances in general.

- Two Guys and a Girl: Alcide ends up interested in Sookie as well, something Eric did not see coming.
- Yandere: Eric's biggest fangirl, Laura, is the typical tween fangbanger who goes from having a crush with Eric to be crazily obsessed with him. When she starts thinking Sookie is not "good enough" for Eric she goes in a race to murder both. She's supposed to represent Mary Sues on True Blood fanfiction.
