Sky Lord Is a story revolving around a young man who wants to become a Sky Lord, someone that owns one of the islands of the sky, to end the war that has been waiging for years and restore peace to the land. However, Sky Lords are not well liked among the people, and are considered tyrants; the most powerful Sky Lord, named Haddon, is the one that owns the biggest, most important and most valuable island, and is the one who started everything from the war to the cataclysm that made the land shatter and create the islands of the sky. Hale must confront him to restore peace and become the greatest sky lord, along with his True Companions, Rem, Amena, Sean, Juriki and Cat

Tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: The Alternate Stories are a collection of stories which tell a random event from the point of view of every character. There's even a Villain Episode. The only one that doesn't have one is Hale, the main story being told from his point of view
  • Badass Normal: Everyone except for Haddon and several other Sky Lords.
  • Berserk Button: Hurt anyone part of the crew, and everyone on said crew will hunt you down.
  • Big Fancy Castle: Haddon has one, of course.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Haddon
  • The Chess Master: Haddon. He organized everything. He is the one who caused the Time Crash, which lead to he shattering of the world and the creation of the sky island, as well as the time. He then corrupted and blackmailed himself up to power, and then gained control of the main island. While he was doing thins he was causing discord among people and kingdom so that he could start a war. Why? Because he was bored and wanted to see what would happen.
  • Cool Airship: On of the methods of transportation. But you can have one only if you can afford it.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Haddon, very, very much.
  • Fearless Fool: Hale.
  • Floating Continent: The setting
  • For the Lulz: Everything Haddon does ever.
  • Giant Flyer: If you can't afford a Cool Airship, this is what you get. Most notable for being the Sky Guards' steeds.
  • It's All About Me: Haddon.
  • I Want Them Alive!: Haddon's order to the Sky Guards in regard to Hale and his crew.
  • Lovable Rogue / Gentleman Thief: Juriki. He becomes more of a hero later.
  • Take It to the Bridge: Galaba Bridge appears many times; every time that the crew ends up there, it is after a great change has happened or a very important thing is about to begin.
    • The first time seen is where the crew lands and they find Sean;
    • the second is when Hale and Haddon meet for the first time;
    • The third is when the crew meets Juriki, who helps them escape the Sky Guards prison and find Hale while Haddon tries to Break Him By Talking;
    • the fourth is where the crew meets again after hale went into the 10-Minute Retirement, just before the Storming the Castle moment;
    • the fifth time is where Haddon is defeated by Hale.
    • An finally, in the epilogue, it is where the crew is together, 15 years after the defeat of Haddon, as the new Grand Sky Lords.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Hale to Haddon.
  • Secret Path: Juriki seem to know every single Secret Path around the entire world. The only ones he doesn't know, Rem does.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Hale does this for his 10-Minute Retirement; Sean does this too many times to count; Juriki did this to his boss.
  • Slipped the Ropes: In one of the Alternate Stories Juriki does this, more than once, in different situations. No one knows how.
  • Sword over Head: Hale readies to kill Haddon, ''and goes through with it.''
  • 10-Minute Retirement: Hale has one of these after Haddon's Break Them by Talking speech. He comes back just in time to save the crew from the Sky Guards.
  • Time Crash: The cataclysm that hit the world two-hundred years before the beginning of the story, which caused the time to distort itself and shattered the land, creating the sky islands.
  • Tired of Running: Amena says this when they are being perused by the Sky Guard. The crew decides to follow her and Storm The Castle, while Hale goes into 10-Minute Retirement.
  • Rebel Leader: "The King Dressed In Rags", A.K.A. Shieni Assejha, Leader of The Deserters
  • Underestimating Badassery: Haddon's first impression of Hale was an annoying boy with no real goal. He gets killed by Hale by the end.
  • Wham Episode: Near the end of the story, when Hale kills Haddon in cold blood.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: The crew lives on the Main Island, Juriki and is married to Tseim has become the new Commander of the Sky Guard, Rem and Amena are the King and Queen of the Island Continent (but they are not married), Hale's recovered from his emotional torture given to him by Haddon, but spends most of his time alone, and no one knows what Sean has been doing. Shieni is the King of the Land Continent, Verse is Commander of the Land Guard and is married to Marika. The rest of the Sky Lords are rounded up and are exiled, except Aren, who still is the Sky Lord of Land Island.
