     Tropes in Results & Retributions

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Played straight by Arle Nadja, then subverted when Dirk Strider rickrolls everyone in the second trial.
Arle: "KYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HOLY FUCK, THAT WAS ACTUALLY HILARIOUS!"
  • Code Name: Every participant of the game is assigned a codename related to them, one way or another.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Due to being based off of her characterization in the Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon Manga, Arle is by far one of the most eccentric characters next to Izzy. Luckily, she's a little more kinder compared to her canon counterpart. This incarnation of Arle is somewhat of a contrast towards her portrayal in another roleplay.
    • Izzy qualifies too, as per usual. Not even a killing game is enough to stop her from being her usual crazy, happy-go-lucky self.
  • Cuckoosnarker: Then again, it just can't be Arle Nadja without her making comments at the expense of others. There are too many examples to list, so here's a few.
King Of Spades: "Why do I have to be by the WEIRD girl."
Arle: "Why does Arle have to be by a bitch ass motherfucker?"
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: What befalls the second victim, Elena, who dies in Kanon's arms in front of everyone. Kanon doesn't take it very well.
  • Deadly Game: Being a Danganronpa RP, this is only a given, as everyone is trapped in the facility and told to kill one another.
  • Drowning Pit: What Glitter goes through after the first vote. Thankfully, she's saved in the nick of time.
  • Irony: Elena was the second victim, and was the heart of the group. The King was someone who's faced a hero with a heart for their soul and was generally heartless. He killed Elena, and proceeded to frame Dirk, a Prince of Heart.
  • Mistaken for Murderer: What results in Izzy's death, due to Fry being in the wrong place at the wrong time mistaking her for trying to set up a trap for murder, when in reality Izzy had talked Kanon out of her murder plan and was disarming the trap.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Considering the nature of this Danganronpa, this has happened a couple of times.
    • This is most of the cast's general reaction to voting Fry to his death during the first trial, and by extension Leela.
  • Off with His Head!: In Fry's execution, the delivery watched Leela get decapitated by one of the robots and her still moving head lands in his lap. Fry too suffers this in a way when his frozen body shatters on the ground, the only thing remaining somewhat intact was his frozen, fear-ridden head.
    • The same fate befalls Dirk Strider at the end of his execution, being decapitated by a robotic version of Roxy Lalonde.
  • Sadistic Choice:
    • This is a central theme to the RP. The experiment everyone finds themselves in is supposed to push them to their limits regarding their morality.
    • The cast comes across this during the last few minutes of the first trial, for Fry had killed Izzy because he believed she was plotting a murder, and tried to rebel against the vote. What makes this more difficult is the reveal of the motive being depending on who loses the class trial, their loved ones will be punished as well. It takes Fry encouraging the group to vote him to get them to do so.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Using friend lightly here, King is the one participant a majority of characters in the Killing Experiment dislikes due to his egotism, self-serving nature, and all-around being a jackass to basically everyone in the facility. Even Rod, the host of the experiment, absolutely finds him abhorrent.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Kanon serves as this when she set up the trap that Fry later uses to kill Izzy under the conclusion that she was setting the trap.
  • You Wake Up in a Room: All sixteen participants wake up in four rooms with four people each, and are then instructed to vote for a random participant, abstinence resulting in the bracelets on their arm detonating.
