- A direct sequel to the original series, Kamen Rider V3 retained Tobei Tachibana and the Great Leader, while the original heroes appeared as recurring characters.
- Kamen Rider X started off standalone but reintroduced Tobei Tachibana a few episodes down the line. While the first five Kamen Riders united in the film Five Riders Vs King Dark, episode 27 functioned as a Recap Episode of both the original series and V3 while reintroducing Shiro Kazami. Kazami was followed by Hayato Ichimonji (Rider #2), who assisted X-Rider in his last episodes, though the finale was down to him.
- Kamen Rider Amazon was mostly standalone, with no past Riders appearing, but was served by the continuing presence of Tobei Tachibana.
- From the start, Kamen Rider Stronger saw the return of the Great Leader then Tobei Tachibana after a few episodes. The previous Riders returned one by one in the last episodes before all seven Riders were assembled in the finale to taken down the Great Leader, who revealed that he was behind the villains in X and Amazon. The original televised run was concluded by a TV special served as a Recap Episode of the franchise up to that point.
- Originally conceived as a Continuity Reboot, Kamen Rider: Skyrider saw a new hero face the Great Leader. About halfway through the series, the seven Riders were introduced one by one and remained as recurring characters. The eight Riders assembled mid-season, in the film Eight Riders Vs Galaxy King, and the Grand Finale.
- Kamen Rider Super-1 would be standalone if not for Genjiro Tani, inherited from Skyrider. The Movie also features the first eight Riders coming to help Super-1.
- Birth of the Tenth! Gather All Kamen Riders!! was a TV special which introduced ZX, the tenth Kamen Rider who joined with his nine predecessors against a new Legion of Doom led by the Great Leader.
- While Kamen Rider BLACK was completely standalone, it was followed by a sequel series keeping The Protagonist, Kamen Rider BLACK RX, which saw the return of the ten Kamen Riders in its last episodes while strongly hinting that the Big Bad was the same old Great Leader.
- Kamen Rider World (1994) was a short film which saw the protagonists of two of the three recent standalone films, Kamen Rider ZO (1993) and Kamen Rider J (1994), teaming-up to fight a Legion of Doom led by Black villain Shadow Moon, also including a monster from Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue (1992).
- Kamen Rider Ryuki: Ryuki vs Kamen Rider Agito was a video episode which saw the Riders of Kamen Rider Ryuki meet Kamen Rider Agito, but it was All Just a Dream''.
