The cast of characters used by Crendor in his World of Warcraft Machinima. While many of them are interchangeable in characterization and plot relevance from video to video, some of them have maintained enough of a consistent personality to stand out.

     Billy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/billywowcrendor.jpg
Billy being confused...as usual.

An Orc hunter who is noted for being childlike, as well as being immensely inexperienced and incompetent at the game. In his episodes, he is frequently mentored by a mysterious narrator to become slightly less bad at his class, with mixed results.

  • Audience Surrogate: As the rookie player, he asks the questions relevant to the topic of the video for the Narrator to answer.
  • The Beastmaster: As is the case for all hunters in the game. However, he stands out precisely because he doesn't have a pet for reasons not initially explained. His origin video reveals that he used to have a pet Crocolisk called Crocy, but released it before he met with the narrator, explaining his lack of a pet.
  • Constantly Curious: He tends to always have a lot of questions to ask. Sometimes it's only the one question relevant to the topic, but other times it can evolve into asking a lot of odd questions that can get on other characters' nerves.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: While not the smartest person in the Crendorverse, he does have his moments:
    • In Wow! The Darkmoon Faire!... Is Bad, he points out the illogical idea of Kerri Hicks being the world's strongest woman, noting that she should be helping out with fighting the numerous world-ending threats if she really was that strong, much to Silas Darkmoon's irritation.
    • He also lampshades the utter pointlessness of achievements and minimal reward gained from them at the end of How to Win at Achievements, much to the surprise of the narrator.
    • When trying to sell things to the increasingly annoyed auctioneer in How to Win at Auction Houses, he ends up wondering if deleting a soulbound item meant he had deleted his soul, and then questioned why the auctioneer wouldn't accept his glass of milk for sale when he had a bunch of food in the back.
    • While most of his ideas in the "If Fans" series of videos tend to be treated as stupid in-universe by his fellow fans, or at least are seen as inane or harmless, several of his ideas out of universe have actually been considered pretty decent, such as world wide treasure hunts.
  • Only Sane Man: While he's clearly meant to be the stereotypical Noob character, his willingness to ask for help and learn, especially compared to the arrogance of people even less competent than him and downright nasty behavior of some of the other character stereotypes ironically makes him one of the saner characters...though this isn't saying much given he's still somewhat lacking in sense. The fact that he also at times questions the warped logic of the people and world around him (and his game mentor at times) only to be told to shut up speaks for itself.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Is rather immature and has a lot of difficulty understanding some of the more complex elements in the game. Though given his introduction video, he is a child and thus likely has no idea what he's doing as a result of his age.
  • Noob: He is incredibly incompetent due to a combination of his inexperience and the unhelpfulness of the typical WoW player. That being said, he has somewhat improved to being only "kind of bad" compared to where he originally started from.
  • Too Dumb to Fool: In his origin story, Billy was completely unaffected by a trolling attempt by a Tauren player because of his own naivety, causing the troll to get bored and leave.

     Boar Thrills
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boarthrillswowcrendor.jpg
He's gonna teach you how to survive in some of the harshest environments on Azeroth.

An Orc shaman and survivalist who hosts his own series, Orc vs Wild, where he traverses some of the harshest environments of Azeroth and teaching people how to survive in them... except much like the person he parodies, his series shows that he's not entirely honest about his skills and his situation.

  • Ambiguous Ending: Many of his videos tend to end like this, with bizarre scenarios occurring that usually involve his death or the story ending before he's about to be affected by some earlier consequence.
  • Catchphrase: "I'm Boar Thrills, and I'm gonna show you what it takes to survive in the harshest environments of Azeroth. (Insert location of the video)."
  • Everyone Has Standards: He might be willing to drink his urine, do colossally stupid stunts, and indulge in a number of bizarre things for the supposed sake of surviving in the wild, but even he finds the Moonguard server to be too much for him.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Partly out of necessity, and partly because of what the show needs to keep its ratings going. He's drunken his urine, eaten a number of things that he outright calls disgusting (like a dung beetle in Tanaris), and overall will eat whatever he claims is needed to for the sake of survival.
  • Fake Ultimate Hero: Downplayed, in that he is genuinely capable of survival and shows it on a number of occasions, but it's also evident that he cuts corners and is willing to cheat on his survival situation (like staying in hotels or having easy conveniences placed by his team when he's supposed to be roughing it out) to make things more pleasant for himself.
  • Hero Worship: Of Hemet Nesingwary, citing him as an inspiration for his survival series. Unfortunately, Hemet Nesingwary hates him, saying that Boar supposedly stole his TV show idea from him.
  • Jerkass: He's not exactly a pleasant person, and frequently shows himself to be a jerk to his camera crew and anyone he doesn't really care about in the moment.
  • Nice Character, Mean Actor: Downplayed. On camera, he plays the role of a rugged survivalist who aims to teach and show people how to survive in the harsh environments of Azeroth. Off-camera (and sometimes on it), he's a bit more mean-spirited, being extremely sarcastic and tending to get into petty arguments with his camera crew, makes snide comments about others, and is very frequently willing to take shortcuts to ensure his own survival, even if it means actively allowing others to suffer. Just ask the goblin in Gadgetzan about his cousin, who Boar abandoned during the Lost Episode "Orc Vs Wild: Tanaris" when he was stranded in Steamwheedle Port.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Of Bear Grylls from the survival series Man vs. Wild.
  • Pet the Dog: He's surprisingly much kinder and more patient than usual when Billy joins him in "Running Wild with Boar Thrills and Billy", giving him a fair bit of support and good advice despite Billy's clear unwillingness to be on the show outside of contractual obligations. Then again, Billy is a child, so he might have been more restrained because of that. And he's not entirely nice to Billy, given he was willing to deceive him into killing an innocent treant (a sentient tree) for firewood.
  • Too Dumb to Live: A number of his stunts can be considered extremely stupid, and have put him into situations that were more than likely to end up with him hurt or dead. The biggest case was in "Orc vs Wild: Kun-Lai Summit", where he foolishly walks off the edge of the summit to his death twice, with the second time after he had revived himself through his shamanic abilities and boasted about him being prepared this time around after Northrend.

     The Go Guy (aka Kagon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/goguy.jpg
The Go Guy, Before Madness

An Orc shaman who was once one of the wisest shaman in Azeroth, but after an unfortunate chain of events involving interacting with the stupidity of the average player in the world (of Warcraft) in his origin story, he was driven to madness and now spends his days yelling his signature "GO! GO! GO!" at anyone who he feels takes too long.

  • Catchphrase: "GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!"
  • Rage Breaking Point: After a very long chain of events in his origin story where his wisdom is ignored or rebuked by idiots, the constant waiting for an incompetently slow tank drives him over the edge. Funnily enough at the end of the video he had calmed down due to Worgen Freeman's soothing narration...until Tim the Whelp arrived.
  • Only Sane Man: At least until he had his breakdown.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Pretty much his reaction to everyone's stupidity around him, and what would ultimately drive him to madness.

     The Narrator
The narrator of many Billy-centric videos, and his primary source of information regarding the inner details of the game. He met with Billy at the end of the latter's origin video, after Billy was on the verge of giving up on the game after being belittled and mocked for his incompetence.
  • Catchphrase: "Hey there Billy! I see (insert topic of the video)."
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While there are times when he can be irritated with Billy, due to the latter's naive personality and tendency to call out his own moments of stupidity, he is overall a positive presence for the hunter, especially compared to some of the other characters in the Crendorverse.
  • Lemony Narrator: He has plenty of moments where he makes some backhanded statements at the subject of the video's topic, usually as part of his teaching to Billy.
  • Not So Above It All: While he is generally just The Voice and never really plays any significant part in the videos, there are times where he has done or said something stupid, which Billy is quick to notice or call out.
  • The Mentor: He acts as this to the rookie player Billy, oftentimes offering (semi)-useful advice based on whatever the video is about. His success is variable to say the least.
  • The Voice: He is never seen in the video, only heard through his voice.

     Worgen Freeman
A Worgen with a Morgan Freeman-esque voice who occasionally narrates some of the videos.

     Zombie Dragon Troll

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zombiedragonguy2.jpg
ZOMBIE DRAGONS!

A troll rogue obsessed with zombie dragons and hardcore gameplay ideas. One of the core characters in the "If Fans" series of videos, where he and other stereotypical fans (and Billy) talk about how they'd change or add in ideas for improving the game.

  • Catchphrase: "No, that's stupid! (insert rant about the subject matter, which inevitably ties into zombie dragons in some form.)"
  • Cloudcuckoolander: To say he's a tad odd is an understatement, given how obsessive he is about hardcore gameplay and zombie dragons.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While his typical standards are treated as being about as ridiculous as you can get, even he thinks that adding in zombie dragons to his idea for replacing resurrection for a full surgery profession is too extreme and overpowered.
  • Hard Core: One of his two main obsessions. If he can suggest an idea to make something more difficult within the game, regardless of how feasible it is, he will.
  • No Indoor Voice: His natural voice is pretty much shouting in an over the top fashion.
  • Stepford Smiler: For all of his over the top behavior, in the video If Fans Fixed Sub Loss in World of Warcraft, he morosely states that "I just... I just want my friends to play again because it's gotten so lonely...", much to the immense discomfort of his fellow fans. While it's almost immediately subverted afterwards when he launches into a rant about zombie dragons, it does imply that much of his overcompensating is just a desire to regain the companionship he had with his old friends who no longer play the game.
