Ballistic
A short tempered ex-rock star. He has a troubled past with Girlfriend's parents, specifically her father.
  • Apocalypse Maiden: Whitty was originally created to be a doomsday device, with this ability leaking out during the cutscene before "Ballistic" where he breaks reality behind him. It also features in the failure animation in the Date Night songs, where failing causes Whitty to wipe out a city block by exploding.
  • Artificial Human: Whitty is a lab-grown genetic mashup of 20% Human, 80% Other.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: In a couple posts relating to his lore by Sock.Clip on Instagram, Whitty doesn't appear to have any private parts.
  • Big Eater: Whitty has a huge apatite, but can digest food more quickly than the average person.
  • Cartoon Bomb: Whitty's head, of the sphere-with-a-fuse variety. His icon at the bottom of the screen makes it more obvious. His lore mentions that his head is shaped that way because he developed in a specifically-designed caged.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: See Rage Breaking Point below.
  • Harsh Vocals: Whitty's voice is very low and growling, resembling the sounds of an electric guitar.
  • Heroic RRoD: Whitty explodes from the stress of screwing up his date when you fail a song in the "Date Night" week.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: The most notable thing about Whitty and Carol during the "Date Night" week is their height difference: Carol is around Girlfriend's height, while Whitty is twice her size and has to heavily slouch to fit into his chair during each of their dates.
  • Limp and Livid: Whitty adopts this pose after he goes ballistic. His poses in this state make him look like he's being violently jerked around like a puppet by its strings, and by this point he practically screams his verses. For good measure, his fuse also lights up.
  • Non-Human Head: Whitty explicitly has a Cartoon Bomb for a head, complete with fuse. White it is representative of his temper, Whitty is literally a walking bomb, and is fully capable of exploding.
  • Playing with Fire: Downplayed; During the opening cutscene, Whitty disposes of the Daddy Dearest poster he rips apart by burning both halves into nothing immediately after dropping them, but he never actually lights anything else on fire after that.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Whitty reaches this right before the third song, shaking violently before crushing his mic like a soda can, tossing it to the ground and unleashing one hell of a Skyward Metal Scream.
  • Reality Warper: For the third song, "Ballistic", Whitty gets so mad that his anger splits reality in half, distorting his side with pulsating shapes most likely seen through the eyes of a madman.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Zig-Zagged - In game, Whitty is very hotheaded and short-tempered who sings with a powerful voice, fitting for a humanoid bomb; while BF is calm and collected and sings softly. In lore, Whitty is fairly timid and easily stressed from constantly being hunted by Updike and The Greater Good, while BF is a cocksure moron who performs to impress Girlfriend, oblivious to any and all peril they're in. This is best seen in "Date Night" songs, where contrasting with Boyfriend's bravado in wooing Girlfriend, Whitty starts every date hunched over nervously, with Carol needing to bring him out of his shell.
  • Retired Badass: Whitty used to be an ex-rockstar, just like Daddy Dearest. The latter may have forced the former's retirement, however, as Whitty seems to hold a grudge with him.
  • Scary Black Man: While a humanoid bomb, Whitty is aggressive, standoffish, and has an intimidating voice, echoing the hallmarks of the stereotype.
  • Slasher Smile: "Ballistic" Whitty gets a teeth-grinding one, with it clashing with his rage making it all the more terrifying, although it's more of a furious grimace rather than a sadistic grin.
  • Turns Red: Being a literal bomb with a short fuse, as the week progresses Whitty's songs become much faster-paced and aggressively filled with note strings and his voice becomes louder and angrier. This reaches a breaking point in "Ballistic" where he literally breaks reality and loses his composure where he limps forward and screams long strings of notes at Boyfriend. Fittingly, at this point his icon in the health meter changes from a black bomb to a red bomb.
  • When He Smiles: If you do good during the songs in "Date Night," Whitty will eventually start smiling bashfully. Exaggerated during the final stretch of "Heartbass" where, together with Carol, he's singing and dancing his heart out with a big smile on his face.
  • Wingding Eyes: "Ballistic" Whitty's eyes rapidly flashes through four shapes similar to the Playstation controller symbols in his idle animation, settling on one of them in any given direction: X (up), circle (down), triangle (right), with a cross (left) replacing the Playstation square.
  • Your Head Asplode: Whitty's head doesn't just look like a bomb - it is a bomb, and can detonate if he gets too stressed (though he can recover, as it contains none of his vital organs). Failing any song in Date Night ends with him actually exploding, with a mile-wide blast radius.

Definitive Edition

    Julian T. Whitmore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_1582.gif
A homeless man who learned how to play the guitar. He’s the second opponent in the mod.
  • Ambiguously Human: His eyes really give that away.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Julian is essentially more happy-go-lucky than Whitty, as if his unique expressions of excitement indicate this.
  • Homeless Hero: Despite not having anywhere to live, he's nicer than Whitty and even willingly accepts Boyfriend's invitation to a rap battle.
  • Shopping Cart of Homelessness: Indicated in Hungry. Julian uses a payphone to order some McDonalds while at an abandoned alleyway on the streets, indicating his homelessness.
  • Beard of Sorrow: Non-beard example. In Hungry, Julian's hair is stroked downwards, in stark contrast with the ponytail he has in his own week.

Others

    Nitty Gritty (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled219_20240225083954.png
A meme version of Whitty created by a then-anonymous 4Chan user. They are a secret opponent in the mod, with their song, Faucet.

Removed

    Updike (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_1588.gif
Whitty's worst enemy who seems to be an agent for Daddy Dearest. He is the opponent of the now-removed song "Remorse", which has now been moved to Funkin Playback.
  • Non-Human Head: His head is a cloud, indicating he's not a human.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Despite his song's seemingly innocent title, Updike himself is one of the meanest characters in an FNF mod.
  • Cain and Abel: On the Cain side as he wants Whitty dead.
  • Light Is Not Good: Despite the color of his special agent suit and his cartoon cloud head, he's still not a nice guy.
