Species: Human

Voiced By: Billy Burke

Batman's ally in the GCPD.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: When he and Harvey go to interrogate Bruce about his whereabout when Alberto was killed, the latter lies and claims that he left earlier to meet with a woman in secret. When Harvey says that story is convenient Bruce replies that it's not for the made-up woman's husband, with Gordon unable to stop himself from laughing.
  • The Commissioner Gordon: Not commissioner yet, but he's obviously still this.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: The events of The Long Halloween places a strain on his relationship with his family, and as a result he himself becomes angry over how his job is stopping him from being there for them.
  • Two First Names: Gordon is also used as a first name.

Other

    Catwoman

Selina Kyle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/catwoman_longhalloween.jpg
As Selina

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Naya Rivera

A costumed woman dating Bruce Wayne and wants to help take down Carmine Falcone.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Is more heroic than her comic self who was still primarily a thief, while here Selina just wants to prove that Falcone is her father. Besides that she mainly helps Batman in his crime fighting and has a much better relationship with him.
  • Adaptational Relationship Change: Despite being in the early years of her career, her relationship with Batman is more similar to how their relationship is after several years where they are in a relationship and open about their secret identities.
  • Alternate Self: She has (or had) one on Earth-2, who was born much earlier than her and had a fully grown daughter, Helena Wayne, who has become a superhero before the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
  • Ambiguously Human: Selina shows several superhuman abilities such as landing on a moving train with ease after falling from a tall building, while Batman fails to land using a grappling gun, and her claws aren't given a clear explanation. So it's possible she's a metahuman in this version, or if the Mythology Gag is taken literally she has an origin similar to the version from Batman Returns.
  • Heroic Bastard: Is the illegitimate daughter of Carmine Falcone, and unlike the rest of her relatives while a thief she has far more morals and is pretty close to being a hero like Batman.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Though Scarecrow’s fear toxin causes Bruce hallucinate her as his mother, Selina does bear a resemblance to Martha Wayne just with different hair. Both have green eyes as well.
  • Ms. Fanservice: As usual, Selina is a very attractive woman who wears a form-fitting costume that highlights her large bust and athletic build, and she also speaks in a flirtatious tone.
  • Mythology Gag: Selina shows several cat like qualities and superhuman abilities, similar to how she appeared in Batman Returns.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Her father is Carmine Falcone, which was only implied in the comics.
  • Sole Survivor: All members of the Falcone family are dead by the end, leaving her as the last one left.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: While dying Falcone mistakes Selina to be her mother, which confirms that she is his daughter.
  • Younger and Hipper: She's younger than her preceding DCAMU self, who seemed to be a case of Older Than She Looks and had a long history with Batman. This version, much like Bruce, seems to be starting out and has a relatively new relationship with Bruce.

    Barbara and James Gordon

Barbara Gordon and James Gordon Jr

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Barbara voiced by: Amy Landecker

The children of Jim Gordon.

  • Age Lift: James in the comics was only a baby, while here he's a young child. Also Barbara, who didn't appear in the original comic, seems to be older than James unlike in the comics.
  • Alternate Self: Crisis on Infinite Earths would feature a fully grown version of Barbara who had become Batgirl and recruited by the Monitor to stop the ant-matter wave.
  • Flat Character: Since they are both children they are this, though they also exist to make Gordon feel like a terrible father when his job prevents him from being around as much as he wants.
  • Two First Names: Like their father, Gordon is also used as a first name.

    Barbara Eileen Gordon

Barbara Eileen Gordon

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Jim Gordon's wife.

Criminals

Organized Crime

    Carmine Falcone

Carmine Falcone

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carmine_falcone_tomorrowverse.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Titus Welliver

Nicknamed The Roman, he is the leader of the Falcone family and Gotham's biggest crime boss.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: He's still a criminal like in the comics, but this version is cruel to Alberto and forced him and Gilda to get an annulment and an abortion.
  • Abusive Parent: He treats Alberto cruelly unlike in the comics. Even after he died Carmine only pretends to visit Alberto's grave so he can have meetings with people. However he does admit to Batman that he does regret his death despite their relationship.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In the comics Alberto was the only member of his family Falcone actually liked, and is protective of him to the point of trying to keep out of the family business. Here he considers Alberto to be The Unfavorite and actually attacks him at one point.
  • I Owe You My Life: Thomas Wayne saved Carmine's life, and this seems to be why he's so determined to create a connection with Bruce. However when Bruce keeps rejecting his attempts at friendship he doesn't hesitate to use Poison Ivy to mind control him.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: He outlives his son Alberto.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Selina Kyle is his illegitimate daughter in this version, while in the comics it was only implied.

    Alberto Falcone

Alberto Falcone

Species: Human

Voiced By: Jack Quaid

The son of Carmine Falcone.

    Sofia Falcone

Sofia Falcone

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Laila Berzins

The daughter of Carmine Falcone.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Doesn't become the serial killer the Hangman in this version.
  • Driven to Suicide: After her father is fatally wounded she trips and falls out a broken window, with Selina grabbing hold of her and trying to keep them from falling. By this point however her entire family and boyfriend is dead, so she lets go to fall to her death.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: In the comics she was killed by Two-Face after surviving the fall which kills her here.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Selina Kyle is her half-sister, though they only meet shortly before Sofia's death.

Maroni Crime Family

    Sal Maroni

Salvator Maroni

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Jim Pirri

A rival crime boss to Falcone.

  • Arch-Enemy: He's the leader of the Maroni crime family, making him this to Carmine.

    Luigi Maroni

Luigi Maroni

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Titus Welliver

Sal's father and former leader of the family.

  • Retired Monster: He has allowed his son to take over the family and seemingly spent his days living alone in peace before being killed by Holiday. His last words to his son were that the only way to end a war was through peace, suggesting that he had grown tired of the war with the Falcone family.

Supervillains

    Calendar Man

Julian Day

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/calanderman_longhalloween.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: David Dastmalchian

A criminal imprisoned in Arkham who has an obsession with holidays.

  • Butt-Monkey: When Two-Face is freeing Arkham inmates, he apparently gets them to guess whether his double headed coin will turn out to be heads or tails to see if he lets them out. He was apparently the only one to guess tails and was therefore left in Arkham.

    Holiday (SPOILERS

Gilda Dent

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gildadent_longhalloween.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Julie Nathanson

The wife of Harvey Dent who becomes the criminal Holiday.

  • Adaptational Personality Change: As a result of her Adaptational Backstory Change, Gilda is more distant and subdued than in the comics.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Did Two-Face kill Alberto due to being a Green-Eyed Monster, or did Gilda somehow encourage Two-Face to kill her ex-husband?
  • Broken Bird: Being seperated from the man she loved and forced to get an abortion resulted in Gilda being an unhappy woman who wants nothing but revenge.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was happily in love with Alberto Falcone and they were married soon after she learned she was pregnant, but Carmine wouldn't accept a child conceived out of wedlock. He forced them to get an annulment and then forced Gilda to have an abortion (which also left her infertile), an experience which left her broken.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: What Carmine Falcone did to her was horrific and wanting revenge is completely justified, but she decided to kill members of his family who apparently had nothing to do with what happened.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To Calendar Man.
  • Karma Houdini: She suffers no punishment for her crimes, with Batman apparently trusting her when she said that Holiday was gone. Though it comes off more as a Pyrrhic Victory considering she has nothing to live for now and is completely alone. Judging by her depressing demeanor, she feels the same way.
  • Never My Fault: She refuses to accept any blame for Harvey becoming Two-Face, and insisting that he was somewhat to blame for what happened.

    The Joker

The Joker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joker_longhalloween.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Troy Baker

One of the most feared and dangerous criminals in Gotham.

  • Arch-Enemy: Batman is terrified when he learns that Joker has escaped Arkham.
  • Ax-Crazy: As usual, he's pretty much insane. Attempting to fatally gas everyone on New Year's Eve wouldn't be out of character.

    Killer Croc

Waylon Jones

Species: Metahuman

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween (mentioned)

One of Gotham's newest villains mentioned by Sal Maroni.

  • The Ghost: Is only mentioned in The Long Halloween.

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: John DiMaggio

A neuroscientist with an obsession with Alice in Wonderland.

  • Depraved Dwarf: Is very short and is a supervillain.
  • Flat Character: Like Penguin he is given very little to do and is mostly seen working with Scarecrow.
  • Villainous Friendship: Subverted as he is seen working with Scarecrow, but the latter seems to be pretty annoyed with his obsession with Alice in Wonderland and Hatter laughs at Scarecrow when he is defeated by Batman.

    Penguin

Oswald Cobblepot

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: David Dastmalchian

A criminal nicknamed the Penguin due to his appearance.

A psychologist who uses a special serum and gas to induce hallucinations.

  • Self-Made Orphan: Apparently strangled his mother to death in this version.
  • Villainous Friendship: Subverted as he is seen working with Mad Hatter, but he seems to be pretty annoyed with his obsession with Alice in Wonderland and Hatter laughs at Scarecrow when he is defeated by Batman.

Cyrus Gold

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/solomongrundy_longhalloween.jpg

A zombie living in the Gotham sewers.

  • Villainous Friendship: With Two-Face, who he encounters while the district attorney is hiding in the sewers.

Harvey Dent

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harveydent_longhalloween.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween

Voiced By: Josh Duhamel

A district attorney determined to bring down Carmine Falcone and other criminals.

  • Composite Character: He was never Holiday in the comics, but here Two-Face briefly assumes the identity to kill Alberto.
  • Death of Personality: After being scarred by the acid, the Two-Face personality talks to Harvey and tells him that he is dead. After that Two-Face is fully in control with there being no hint that Harvey still exists.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He's aware of Gilda's past relationship with Alberto Falcone, which seems to be why his Two-Face identity decided to kill him as Holiday.
  • The Mentally Disturbed: Comments made in the film suggest the reason Harvey never carries a gun is because he had pre-existing mental issues made worse during the film.
  • Protagonist Journey to Villain: The Long Halloween is this for him as he is arguably the deuteragonist next to Batman.
  • Villainous Friendship: With Solomon Grundy, who he befriends while hiding in the sewers.
  • Villainous Valor: Two-Face still considers his marriage to Gilda as being valid, and once he figures out she is Holiday he takes the blame for the murders.
