Poochee
- Badass Adorable: It's shown in Part 4 that he managed to rip out the witch's eye and replace his own with it.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Does this in the special announcement video."Remember, what's on the TV is what's make-believe. When you go outside and look at the rest of the world, that's real!"
- Broken Record: In Part 2, he constantly repeats a phrase he said in Part 1."Yeah, you're probably right!"
- Dream Spying: How he figures out that the witch kidnapped the kitten.
- Eye Scream: When Pansy is kidnapped, his only choice is to let the witch take his eyes. Subverted when it's later shown that he took the witch's eye instead. In the remastered version, this is played straight since the witch actually pulls his eyes out.
- Failure Is the Only Option: When the witch says that he can only save Pansy if he lets the witch take his eyes, he lets her because he doesn't know how else to save her. Subverted when in Part 4 he's shown with one of the witch's eyes.
- Hollywood Healing: Even though he replaces one of his eyes with the witch's and it's visibly bleeding, but in Part 6 he is seen with that eye just like how it used to be with no explanation.
- Kid Hero: He is explicitly stated to be a puppy by the narrator.
- Non Sequitur: Does this at the end of Part 5."Remember, what's on the TV is real. When you go outside and look at the rest of the world, that's what's make-believe!"
- Platonic Life-Partners: With Pansy; the narrator states them to be best friends.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Looks adorable thanks to the large eyes and fluffy appearance.
- Talking Animal: A talking puppy.
- Vocal Dissonance: He's supposed to be a puppy, but he sounds more like a teenager.
Pansy
- Damsel in Distress: She's revealed to have been kidnapped by the Witch in Part 3. She is later freed, though.
- Dream Spying: How she figures out that the witch kidnapped the kitten.
- Kid Heroine: She is explicitly stated to be a puppy by the narrator.
- Platonic Life-Partners: With Poochee; the narrator explains that they are best friends.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Looks adorable thanks to the large eyes and fluffy appearance.
- Talking Animal: A talking puppy.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: She's female and wears a pink bow.
The Witch
- And Your Little Dog, Too!: Kidnaps Poochee's best friend, Pansy, for no established reason.
- Ax-Crazy: Slowly Pulls out one of Poochee's eyes while laughing like a maniac in the remastered version.
- Big Bad: She's the main antagonist of Poochee and Pansy, who kidnaps the kitten and Pansy, and then attempts to remove Poochee's eyes.
- Eye Scream: Poochee takes at least one of her eyes out. Maybe even both, considering a screenshot where both of her eyes are missing.
- Killed Offscreen: We never actually see her get her eyes taken out.
- No Name Given: She's only referred to as "the witch" and isn't given a proper name.
- Scary Teeth: Has sharp teeth befitting for her appearance.
- Wicked Witch: She's an evil witch with the characteristics of one, such as having green and wrinkly skin and living alone in a tower in a dark place called Sufferdark.
The Kitten
- By the Lights of Their Eyes: The first part of the kitten that is seen is its eyes.
- No Name Given: No proper name is given to it, and it's just called by its species name.
- Talking Animal: Strangely averted, unlike with Poochee and Pansy.
Freddy the Firefly
- Alliterative Name: Freddy the Firefly.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: He is never seen again after Part 1. This doesn't apply to the remastered series, where he also makes an appearance in episode 2.
