John Steed
John Wickham Gascoyne Beresford Steed
Played by: Ralph Fiennes
Dubbed by: Patrick Osmond (European French)
The best secret agent in service of Her Majesty.
- Adaptation Personality Change: He's got much less joie de vivre than Patrick Macnee's Steed to say the least, being more of The Stoic (or displays straight up British Stuffiness, while we're here).
- Dashingly Dapper Derby: He loves wearing bowler hats, and he's a bona fide asskicker in service of Her Majesty.
- Sword Cane: His main weapon.
Emma Peel
Dr. Emma Peel
Played by: Uma Thurman
Dubbed by: Laurence Crouzet (European French)
A scientist who joins John Steed in countering the projects of Sir August de Wynter.
- Adaptational Job Change: She's still a scientist, but here she's apparently a meteorologist, while the original series' Emma Peel was a chemist.
- Adaptation Personality Change: Just like Steed, she's much more The Stoic than Diana Rigg's character was.
- Fanservice Pack: Her leather suit here is much more, shall we say, form-fitting than Diana Rigg's suits were.
Sir August de Wynter
Sir August de Wynter
Played by: Sean Connery
Dubbed by: Jean-Claude Michel (European French)
A Scottish lord and billionaire who seeks to control the world through its climate, forcing bad weather on people to give him what he wants.
- Aristocrats Are Evil: He's a Lord, and he's a Diabolical Mastermind.
- Casting Gag: In a superspy franchise of which several actors have appeared in Eon Productions James Bond films, he's played by the original James Bond actor.
- Large Ham: "Rain or shine, all is mine!"
- Foil: To John Steed. Both dress well, are gentlemen of culture, and fight with canes.
- Man in a Kilt: Holds a meeting wearing a kilt at one point.
- Weather Manipulation: Achieves this with the help of a Weather-Control Machine.
