"It smacks of minimal effort to me."

A radio DJ, television presenter, and co-host of My Dad Wrote a Porno.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Frequently greets Alex with these.
  • Fish out of Water: She appeared uneasy at times and tended to restrain herself rather than engaging in the competitiveness that professional comedians exhibit when pitted against one another.
  • Nice Girl: Comes across as very sweet and gentle.
  • The Quiet One: The most softspoken of the Series 6 cast, she could get drowned out by the boisterousness of the others on the panel.
  • That Came Out Wrong: When arguing against Asim's attempt at blowing out a candlenote , she noted that it was "a tug, not a blow", which caused the studio to erupt in laughter.

Asim Chaudhry

"♫ Greg Davies, I wanna have your babies! ♫"

A comedian and actor, best known for his character Chabuddy G in People Just Do Nothing.

  • Carpet of Virility: When required to bring in a hairy item for a prize task, he presented a standee of himself, saying that his impressive body hair made him the hairiest submission.
  • Covert Pervert: When asked by Greg to name his favourite Japanese short story during one of the studio tasks, he responds that he prefers hentai.
  • Pride: It takes a few episodes, but it's eventually pointed out that almost all of his prize task submissions seem to somehow involve a picture, photograph or representation of him in some way.
  • Running Gag:
    • Asim's prize entries tend to include a photo or video of his likeness.
    • Squirty cream appears in several of his task attempts, whether using it to fill up a snow globe balloon or cooling down hot pancake in his mouth.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: By the end of his series, he's been set up as someone seeking the Taskmaster's approval, but struggles to receive it.

Liza Tarbuck

"I felt so dirty."

Click to see Liza in “The Alpine Darling” Spoilers!

An actress and staple of British TV and radio.

  • Ass Shove: Two instances during the series:
    • In one instance, when tasked with making something spin for as long as possible, she shoved the business end of a power drill up a rubber lizard and wasn't subtle about it.
    • In the other, when tasked with showing her love for the Taskmaster, she made Alex sit bare-arsed on a cake, with Alex remarking that there was one less profiterole when he stood up.
  • Badass Boast: After competing the team task in 'H' alone, Tim and Asim stand dumbfounded as Alex blows the whistle while Liza walks out of the room.
    Tim: What was that?
    Liza: That was the task.
  • Cassandra Truth: In 'H', the team task that involves piecing together clues pinned up on a wall and then to "repeat the instruction 100 times". Liza immediately solves the puzzle and gets on with the second part (hopping), while her teammates Tim and Asim ignore her contributions.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: Liza has demonstrated this in instances such as smashing up the wind-up toy man and the infamous cake incident. In the aftermath of said incident, she runs away giggling loudly to herself like a madwoman.
  • Consistent Clothing Style: Throughout series 6, Liza often wore a plain black top paired with a colourful knee-length skirt.
  • Dirty Old Woman: Casually saying she'll give a tiny bicyclist doll "the ride of his life", making Alex sit on a cream cake etc.
  • Girls with Moustaches: She has a beard as part of her task outfit for Champion of Champions 2.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Liza's approach to tasks that she knew she wouldn't be able to complete well falls squarely under this trope.

Russell Howard

"It was like watching someone have a breakdown on their Blue Peter audition tape."

A stand-up comedian who used to be a regular on Mock the Week. He is the host of Russell Howard's Good News and The Russell Howard Hour.

  • Sunglasses at Night: He wore variable-tint glasses for his pre-taped tasks and the lights used by the camera crew were enough to cause the lenses to darken even when shooting indoors and in the evenings.
  • Testosterone Poisoning: When tasked with doing something manly, he took his shirt off, drew stereotypically macho tattoos on himself, and pretended to be an old-school bloke disappointed at his nerdy son and encouraging the boy to get a job slaughtering animals at an abattoir.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: For whatever reason, he was in a bad mood during the "blow a bubble and pop it" task and was snapping and cursing from the moment he read "Your time starts now".

Tim Vine

"It's nice to be out of the house."

A comedian who specialises in one-liners, and is also known for his role as Tim in Not Going Out.

  • Butt-Monkey: In "The Bubble Brothers", Tim was tasked with making an outfit using only material he'd purchased from a stationers. The other contestants would win a bonus point if they could guess the Punny Name Tim gave his outfit. He had made a "track suit", and nobody guessed it.
  • Gosh Darn It to Heck!: In the studio, everyone comments how Tim is quite pleasant all around and has never sworn until he says "bollock" and "son of a bitch" on two separate occasions.
Greg: Oh, I'd love to see you drop the C-bomb whilst Big Toe Bobble Hatting.
    Tim: Crikey?
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: He wore a safari suit for his tasks, complete with pith helmet and fake fur on his shoulders.
  • Nice Guy: Tim was consistently warm in the studio segments, and not confrontational in the slightest in the competition. When asked if he'd like to argue for points, he joked "it's just a game, it's nice to be out of the house".
  • Pungeon Master: A staple of his stand-up comedy. He'd make punny quips while performing his tasks. Other contestants were even tasked with guessing a pun he set up in a special task.
  • Unusual Euphemism: In Episode 2: Tarpeters, "bums on seats!"
