Koopalings

    In general
  • Gender-Blender Name: They all have middle names which are given the opposite gendered name to their actual names. Justified, as it's Koopa tradition to give newly hatched eggs two names due to being unable to tell their gender prior to hatching. Whichever name ends up not being used becomes the middle name.

     Ludwig
Full Name: Ludwig Vanessa Koopa

The eldest Koopaling out of the seven. Ludwig is known to be a "Special", beings with the ability to manipulate elements.

  • Embarrassing First Name: Happens at the end of Long Past Due.
Ludwig: WHAT! Lucille von Koopa? Is this some sort of joke?
Message: Mr. Koopa,we have noticed that you have decided to break Koopa tradition and select a male middle name. So, we have taken the liberty of selecting a female first name for you to keep with the tradition.
Ludwig: Oh, you have got to be kidding me! I'm gonna sue that place back into the Stone Age!
  • Embarrassing Middle Name: Ludwig doesn't like his middle name a lot due to the Koopa naming tradition, preferring "von" much more. He somewhat got it changed by the end of Long Past Due... until he realized that now he would have an Embarrassing First Name instead.
  • Emotional Powers: Ludwig's superpowers are more directly tethered to his emotions. Anger for his pyrokenisis.
  • Iconic Outfit: Through the Super Koopalings stories, Ludwig usually has a long blue cloak worn over him with a button at the center.
  • Mind over Matter
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After finding out about specials as a seven year-old child, Ludwig unintentionally caused an avalanche which swallowed Frostwall, along with a very close friend of his from there.
  • Playing with Fire
  • PrecisionFStrike: Generally being the eldest, Ludwig once a few times when he's aggravated or irritated, may let out a few swears.
  • Shock and Awe

     Lemmy
Full Name: Lemonade Natalie Koopa

  • Little Big Brother: Lemmy may be the smallest Koopaling, but he is the second eldest out of them.
  • Pungeon Master: Lemmy is ready to crack up puns to make smiles for others. Most of them don't really like them, but Ludwig does.
  • Stepford Smiler: Took this during around the beginning after reading about a critic's comments of his opening act in Shellock Holmes.

     Iggy
Full Name: Ignatius Magnolia Koopa

  • Insufferable Genius: Iggy is the more brainiac of the Koopalings, and his speech usually has him speaking with many precise and scientific or formulating terms. It has also been mentioned in the series that Iggy discovered an element known as Galaxium, went to college as a seven year old, and obtained nine college majors.
  • The Smart Guy: Out of the Koopalings, he is incredibly intelligent, though it constantly goes over to his Insufferable Genius.

     Wendy
Full Name: Wendy Orville Koopa

  • Smurfette Principle: Is the only female out of the Koopalings.
  • Weird Beard: The focus of Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. Iggy hadn't the time to test his formula with a Tanooki Leaf and Wendy hastily drinks it... and she gets a tanooki's tail as a beard for most of the time until Mario was brought to hit her.

     Roy
Full Name: Roy Allison Koopa

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Does this in Mind Sweep.
Roy: (sees Ludwig's hair back to normal) Herbert was right; your hair did grow back before the end of this story.
  • The Casanova: Roy was a Casanova Wannabe around the beginning of Celia'a Dad, but he is very good with picking up dates. He hasn't lost it after Celia becomes his girlfriend in Long Past Due.
  • Casanova Wannabe: In the beginning of Celia’s Dad, he was terrible at picking up dates. Averted in the redux version, where Roy does get dates. They just dump Roy after they get tired of his stupidity.
  • Comically Missing the Point: This happens with him and Ludwig once in Mind Sweep...
Roy: Oh man, it's darker in here than a room where the lights are turned off! Where am I?
    Ludwig: Roy.
Roy: AHHHH! There's a ghost in here!
Ludwig: No Roy, I'm not a ghost; I'm Ludwig.
Roy: AHHH! It's a ghost that sounds like Ludwig!
Ludwig: (annoyed and lit up a fire for Roy to see him) No, you idiot; there is no ghost!
Roy: Oh thank goodness Ludwig; you scared it away.
  • Dumb Muscle: Even Roy admits about his own severe lack of knowledge himself.
  • Real Men Wear Pink
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Roy is shown to be frightened of the supernatural, mainly ghosts.

     Morton
Full Name: Morton Bailey Koopa

  • Not So Stoic: There are times where Morton's tone says that he is angry. And then in Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow, he was frightened when it came to his turn of Wendy ready to use his personal most embarrassing secrets to make sure that the other Koopalings didn't embarrass Roy. It has also been revealed in Split Mindset that Morton suffers from depression, which has led him to suppress his emotions.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Morton didn't mind wearing a rainbow Pegasus costume in Celia's Dad. And he is a fan of the show Rainbow Mare.
  • The Stoic: Morton is able to keep most conversations with a neutral face without raising his voice too much.

     Larry
Full Name: Lawrence Octavia Koopa

Parental Abandonment: Larry has the most focus focus on finding who the Koopalings' birth parents are.

Other Characters

     Bowser
Full Name: Bowser Hortensia Koopa I

The current King of the Koopa Kingdom. Bowser is also the adoptive parent of the Koopalings. He also has a biological son, Bowser Hortensia Koopa II, otherwise known as Bowser Junior.

  • Dumb Muscle: Generally, most agree that many of Bowser's plans aren't exactly sharp. Or most of his general knowledge, including believing that babies come from stork deliveries.
  • The Good King: Downplayed, given that he is still the evil kingdom conquerer we knew him as in the games. But the stories portray him as a kind and reasonable ruler to his people.

     Princess Peach
Full Name: Peach Honey Toadstool

The current Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. Princess Peach has been commonly kidnapped by Bowser many, many, times in the past before Mario (and his allies) come to rescue her.

     Mario
An Italian man who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom, alongside with his younger twin brother, Luigi. He is constantly saving Princess Peach to the point that he meets most of the Koopas with aggressiveness.
  • Hero Antagonist: He's always foiling Bowser's evil plots to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. Due to the Koopalings being Bowser's adoptive children, he's not particularly kind to them whenever they encounter.

     Celia Patch

     Sage
A strange Koopa teenager who appears in Long Past Due coming from the future. He keeps most of his information confidential, with the sole purpose of bringing Roy and Celia Patch together.

  • Kid from the Future: He comes from the future in order to have Roy and Celia Patch get together as a couple. It is heavily implied that he could be Roy and Celia's son.
  • Ominous Message from the Future: Before returning to his time, he tells Roy that he and his family will face ordeals, but believes that they can get through.
