The characters for the arcade game Starwing Paradox.

In General

  • The Ace: All six of them are shown to be experienced Aireal pilots.

Hikari

”Welcome, Hero! How exciting it is to meet you!”

The poster girl of the game. Hikari is a cheerful girl who always seeks to enlighten the mood. Her Air-Real is the Solidea, a well-rounded assault unit.

  • Catchphrase: "Kirarin!"
  • The Fool: For an ace pilot, she comes across as reckless and clumsy, yet comes out clean on the other side.
  • Genki Girl
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Her opening scene in the trailer shows her charging head first into the enemy, leaving everyone else behind her.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name means "light", symbolizing her cheerfulness.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red to Reika's blue.

Reika

”Not thinking clearly is the worst.”

Polite, diligent, and more level-headed than Hikari. Pilots the CU-Rator, a support-type unit.

  • Aloof Big Sister: Plays this role to Hikari.
  • Badass Bookworm: Literally, since she's always seen reading a book (or a bunch of it). She's also regarded as an ace pilot.
  • Hime Cut: Her long black hair has a resemblance to this style, though it is wavy near the ends.
  • Mr. Exposition: She narrates the story and the functions of the Air-Reals.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue to Hikari's red.

Nagi

”I’m not the type to go against the rules, or my moral convictions. But if it’s for her sake, I will bend them.”

A kind-hearted boy who appears weak at first glance, but his strong sense of justice and pilot ability more than makes up for it. He mainly pilots the Cardinal, a red close-quarters unit with high mobility.

Kazuma

”Let’s have a fun flight together!”

A fearless, and natural-born warrior who seeks to challenge strong opponents. Pilots the Saburaiga, which follows a similar design to Nagi's Cardinal except with dark blue and red colors.

Shirley

”Earth is the most backwater place for the universe could care!”

A somewhat domineering girl who’s energy is only matched by Hikari. Although she claims she's from the city, others suspect she's really from the more remote regions. Pilots the large and heavy Gallten-dah.

  • City Mouse: How she likes to be depicted.
  • Country Mouse: The others suspect she's this kind of girl from the rural areas. She tries to prove otherwise.
  • First-Name Basis: Uses this in place of first-person pronouns.
  • Mighty Glacier: Her Air-real has a lot of health and is very powerful, but boy, is it very slow as displayed with the need for four engines to activate Full Drive.
  • Tsundere: Type A. Abrasive openly, but reserves feelings for her teammates.
  • Valley Girl: Tries hard to look like a City Mouse? Check. Has weird verbal and grammar usage? Check.
  • Wrench Wench: Has a large collection of tools and machines.

Isadora

”Partnering with me would feel so much nicer...don’t you think?”

A stunning woman from an upper-class family and is quite the celebrity. She has quite the sexy, wild side as she displays to her teammates. Pilots the Sighthead, made for long-range sniping.
